Movies on Indian Army, Navy and Air Force always inspire a feeling of pride and boost patriotism for our Country. Various Indian movies are made to showcase the life of our soldiers who risk their own lives to save ours. Here is the list of 27 movies on Indian Army, Navy and Air Force that show our valour and courage.

1. LOC: Kargil

The movie is about the Indian army, directed and produced by J.P.Dutta, features Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan as lead actors. It is based on the Kargil War fought between India and Pakistan, paying a tribute to Indian Army Operation Vijay. 

LOC is dedicated to the bravery and selflessness of our soldiers who have laid down their lives to safeguard ours. LOC is a story of sacrifice, patriotism and courage. It made me realize how a soldier sacrifices their lives to save most of the civilians they even don’t know.

2. URI: The Surgical Strike 

Directed by Aditya Dhar, URI - The Surgical Strike is a movie on Indian Army featuring Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal and Kierti Kulhari. It is based on the surgical strike conducted by Indian military against Pakistani administered Kashmir. 

The movie is very inspiring and real, especially Vicky Kaushal’s splendid acting made it even better and that dialogue “How’s the josh? High sir!” took it off to another level.  

3. Border 

Directed and produced by J.P.Dutta, Border is an Indian army movie based on Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. It shows how 120 Indian Army men fought against 2500 Pakistan Army men along with one entire tank regiment. 

This movie features Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Akshay Khanna and Jackie Shroff as a lead character. The movie portraits the historic Battle of Longewala located in Rajasthan. The movie includes various patriotic moments.

4. Lakshya 

One of the most realistic Indian army movies, Lakshya is directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani. The movie features Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan and Priety Zinta as the lead characters.

The story revolves around an aimless young man, Karan, who joins the military after being inspired by a Hollywood movie, but later back out as he realized the life of a soldier is not at all easy.

5. Haqeeqat 

Haqeeqat is an Indian action film directed by Kuku Kohli and produced by N.R.Pachisia. It stars Ajay Devgan and Tabu as the main lead. Shiva who wants to leave his criminal life after saving a police officer and his family changes his name to Ajay. 

Sudha, after her husband died, lives the life of a widow. Ajay, as a new tenant, comes to Sudha rescue when she is being molested, both fall in love and decided to get married.

6. Shaurya 

Shaurya is produced by Hresh Dayani and directed by Samar Khan, starring Kay Kay Menon, Rahul Bose, Jawed Jaffry, Minisha Lambha and Dipak Dobriyal. It is based on the context of Kashmir conflict in Jammu Kashmir. 

The film revolves around an Indian Army Officer Capt. Javed Khan, who is accused of killing his commanding officer Major Rathod. However, the problem arises when Javed Khan refuses to defend himself and freely accept the crime.

7. Tango Charlie 

Tango Charlie is a Bollywood movie produced by Nitin Manmohan and written and directed by Mani Shankar. The movie stars Ajay Devgan, Bobby Deol, Sanjay Dutt and Tanisha Mukherji.

The story is about Tarun Chauhan, an Indian Army Officer who is posted by his superior, to Northeastern part of India to rescue the people. Reaching there, he comes to know about various illegal activities, violence and terrorism. 

Later, when war suddenly starts between India-Pakistan, Tarun and his battalion are sent to Kargil, where they face a challenge.

8. Prahaar: The Final Attack 

Prahaar is a Hindi movie produced by Saudakar Bokade, and written and directed by Nana Patekar. It features Nana Patekar, Madhuri Dixit and Dimple Kapadia as the main lead. 

Prahaar is the story of a highly trained and a tough Indian Army Officer Major Chauhan serves on the battlefield but is unaware of the enemy inside of the country.

9. Hindustan Ki Kasam 

Produced and directed by Veeru Devgan, Hindustan Ki Kasam is a Bollywood movie starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Manisha Koirala and Sushmita Sen. 

The story depicts the life of twin brothers who get separated at birth, one grows as a Hindu in India and the other one grow as a Muslim in Pakistan. Later they battle during an Indo-Pak war.

10. 1971: Beyond Borders 

The movie is produced by Haneef Mohammad and actors Allu Sirish, Mohanlal, Arunday Singh and Asha Sharath are in the lead roles.

The movie is inspired by real events based on the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The movie depicts how the war affects the lives of the soldier on both sides of the border.

11. Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty 

Starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the main lead, Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty is a movie about the brave men of the Indian Army. Virat, a military officer uses his intellectual skills to knock down the terrorist, who accidentally bumps into a terrorist, who is planning to destroy Mumbai.

12. Satellite Shankar 

The movie is written and directed by Irfan Kamil. Satellite Shankar is the story of an efficient military officer, whose aim is to bring people together but people don’t realize his efforts. It stars Sooraj Pancholi and Megha Akash.

13. Mission Kashmir

Mission Kashmir is another Indian Ary movie directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The story depicts the life of a boy Altaf whose parents are murdered. Later he was adopted by the same policemen who murdered his parents. When Altaf found the truth he decided to take revenge.

14. Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran 

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran is a Bollywood movie starring John Abraham, Diana Penty and Boman Irani in lead roles. 

Parmanu is the story of an IAS officer Ashwant who given the task to visit Pokhran and to re-conduct the nuclear test with his teammates without being noticed by the American intelligence agencies.

15. Aiyaari 

Aiyaari is a Hindi movie starring Siddhart Malhotra, Rakulpreet Singh, Manoj Bajpai and Naseeruddin Shah, and is directed by Neeraj Pandey. Jai, after finding of an illegal arms deal, cheats with the highly sensitive data related to his organisation, which causes his mentor Abhay to chase him.

16. Phantom 

Phantom is directed by Kabir Khan, with Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Khan as the main lead. It is the story of a disgraced Indian soldier, Daniyal, who wants to win back his lost glory. Daniyal faces many trials when go on the dangerous mission to kill the suspects of 26/11 suspects.

17. The Ghazi Attack 

The movie is based on the mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. A Pakistani submarine Ghazi secretly plans to attack Vizag port, for this, it has to pass to Indian submarine. Starring Rana Daggubati, Tapsee Pannu and Om Puri, this movie shows the great valour of Indian Navy officers.

18. Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyo 

Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyo is produced and directed by Anil Sharma. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Divya Khosla Kumar. The movie depicts the story of a young man Karan, who unwillingly joins the Indian army, just to maintain his family traditions.

Soon finds himself fighting with terrorists who want to destroy the peace and harmony of the country.

19. Rustom 

Rustom is a movie about Indian Navy directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, with Akshay Kumar, Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta and Arjan Bajwa as the main lead. The movie depicts the life of a naval officer Rustom Pavri, who returns home and find out that his wife having an affair with his close friend Vikram, and accused of murdering him.

20. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl

The movie is produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Johar and Apoorva Mehta, directed by Sharan Sharma, and has Jahnvi Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi and Manav Vij in lead roles. The movie is based on the life of flight lieutenant Gunjan Saxena, was the first Indian Air Force woman who went to Kargil War to serves the country.

21. Airlift 

Airlift is a historical movie directed by Raja Krishnan Menon.  Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur are in the main lead. The movie depicts the life of an Indian businessman Ranjit Katiyal who leads a happy and successful life with his family in Kuwait. 

When Iraq invades Kuwait how the Indian businessman decided to take risk of his life and become the spokesperson for more than one lakh stranded countrymen. The movie shows how the Indian Airforce rescues people in a tense situation.

22. The Great Indian Escape 

Directed by Singh Taranjeet, The Great Indian Escape is a Bollywood movie starring Raghav Rishi, Dipna Patel, Bobby Bedi, Asheesh Kapoor and Tushar Phalke. During 1971 Indo-Pak war 12 IAF pilots kept captive for a year by the Pakistani Air Force. 

Later they escaped from the Provost Camp of the PAF to Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The Great Indian Escape shows the trials of the IAF Pilots during their escape.

23. Rang De Basanti

Rang De Basanti is written, produced and directed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra. It features Aamir Khan, Siddhart, Kunal Kapoor, Sohal Ali Khan, Sharman Joshi, R.Madhavan, Alice Patten in the main lead roles. 

Rang De Basanti is the story of six young Indians who assist Sue to make a documentary on the various Indian freedom fighters, which unwillingly awakens their long-forgotten freedom. It also parallelly shows the dark side of Indian Air Force.

24. Mausam

An Indian romantic drama film directed by Pankaj Kapur, featuring Shahid Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Anupum Kher and Supriya Pathak. The movie revolves around the couple, Hraminder a Punjabi man who fall in love with a Kashmiri woman Aayat. 

But they get separated due to communal riots, terrorist attack and a major India-Pakistan war. After many obstacles, they are together.

25. Vijeta 

The movie Vijeta is produced by Shashi Kapoor and directed by Govind Nihalani. It has actors Amrish Puri, Rekha and Shashi Kapoor. The story of a confused teenager Angad who caught between the marital affairs of his parents. He chooses to become a fighter pilot with the Indian Air Force.

26. Agnipankh 

Agnipankh is produced by Dhillin Mehta and directed by Sanjeev Puri, starring Shamita Shetty, Jimmy Shergill, Rahul Dev and Divya Dutta in the main lead. 

The movie revolves around the life of three Indian Air Force Pilots, who were held captive by Pakistani troops, treated brutally and ruthlessly. In this camp, they meet Shamsher Singh Shekhawat and with him the trio plan to escape.

27. Bhuj: The Pride of India

Bhuj: The Pride of India is an Indian historical war drama directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, based on IAF Squadron Vijay Karnik and nearly 300 Gujarati Women from the Bhuj region of India. It is a true story of bravery, patriotism and determination set in the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.
