Subhash Chandra Bose commonly known as Netaji was one of the biggest freedom fighters of all time. He belonged to Kolkata and was the son of a lawyer. He was sent to the Cambridge university to pursue his studies in civil services by his parents.

He first time participated in the freedom fight by joining the non-cooperation movement which was started by MK Gandhi. Unfortunately, Bose passed away in 1945 due to his injuries from a plane crash in Japan.

Given below is a list of Subhash Chandra Bose movies, which might help you remember the great freedom fighter and the freedom fight. You will unfold incidents that will boil your blood and make you value your freedom.

Before you watch any of these patriotic movies, here is a word of advice - try to keep a few tissues besides you. You will feel exceptional enthusiasm and respect for Netaji after watching these Subhash Chandra Bose movies.

1. Samadhi (1950)

The movie is a spy thriller with Shashi Kapoor playing the brother- Pratap. It is a partial love story but you can definitely see the British and freedom fight as the major part of the movie.

2. Subhas Chandra (1966)

This movie is based on the younger or the childhood years of Netaji, basically including his childhood, schooling, college, ICS, some political campaigns and arrests. Although, it is more of a biography sort-of movie yet can interest fiction fans as well.

3. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero (2004)

This movie represents the struggles and fights that Subhash Chandra Bose went through when he resigned from his post as the congress leaders and participated in the second world war. This Subhash Chandra Bose movie is a must check out especially if you are a political movie buff.

4. Ami Subhash Bolchi (2011)

The movie's plot is quite different and yet very interesting. A Bengali man named Debabrata Bose is trying to bring change and is fighting for it. During all his fight he awakens the late Subhash Chandra Bose who then helps him out throughout. Pretty sick, I guess?

5. Bose: Dead/Alive (2017)

Just like the title itself, this Subhash Chandra Bose movie is the story of him around the time of world war 2 when Netaji is presumed to be dead but his family is telegrammed and informed that he actually isn’t.

6. Raag Desh (2017)

This movie is set in the time after the second world war when the army returns back to the country under the leadership of Subhash Chandra Bose and now are gathering up people to fight the British. The movie basically portrays their whole journey and is a must checkout.

7. Gumnami (2019)

This movie is based on the Mukherjee commission who is hired to investigate the death of Subhash Chandra Bose but little do they know that they are in for a real bumpy ride.

8. Netaji (2019)

If you are lazy or just wanna know it all in one movie, my recommendation would be this movie. It is a biographical drama about the life of Netaji.

9. The Forgotten Army (2020)

The Forgotten Army is the last of the Subhash Chandra Bose movies in our list. It is the story of 55,000 soldiers most of whom died fighting the Japanese and the English troops. The soldiers might have died in 1942 but they and their sacrifice are still alive.

Netaji was exceptional in the way he motivated people with his speeches and slogans and in his approach towards tackling the big problems. He was the one who could convince Hitler in one go. Knowing more about him and trying to imagine his thought process is certainly necessary for our generation. We do have many big hurdles to face in the future.

Usually, whenever you ask someone about their interest in history, they deny it. But I think movies like these will definitely catch your interest at once. They are not just tales of patriotism and struggle but also of great leadership and bravery. If you take my suggestion, these Subhash Chandra Bose movies are to be added in your movie bucket list right now.
