2. The Meyerowitz Stories

Written and directed by Noah Baumbach, the film stars Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller in lead roles. It’s a funny and really enjoyable family comedy. Sander’s and Stiller’s performances go hand in hand which makes it difficult for viewers to choose between both of them. 

3. Punch-Drunk Love

The movie is a romantic comedy by P.T. Anderson. Sandler does a great job in the movie by playing the role of a lonely guy who finds love. The movie is dark, sweet, charming to watch, and uses Sandler’s comic persona to perfection. The Rom-com made $24.7 million at the box office.

4. Funny People

As far as Adam Sandler films go, this is one of his best. Directed by Judd Apatow, starring Sandler and Seth Rogen in lead roles, the movie has some smart jokes and fun cameos. The film was released on July 31, 2009, and grossed $71 million.

5. The Wedding Singer

With Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in lead roles, the movie is about a wedding singer, who is abandoned by his fiance at the altar. Later he meets a girl who asks for his help to plan her wedding. And then he falls in love with the girl. The movie is funny, but not as funny as a regular Adam Sandler movie. The film had a budget of $18 million and received $123.3 million.

6. Reign Over Me

Directed by Mike Binder, starring Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle, ‘Reign over me’ is a classic tale of friendship. Sandler plays a broken man, who lost his family in the terror attacks of 9/11 and gave a solid performance in the movie. It made $22.2 million at the box office.

7. Hotel Transylvania

This movie is top-notch animation stuff. With a star cast of Sander, Andy Samberg, and Selena Gomez. Dracula (Sandler), who runs a five-star hotel for his fellow monster, is the sole parent to his daughter, Mavis (Selena Gomez). The film was a blockbuster and went on to make $358.4 million, worldwide.

8. Happy Gilmore

This movie stands out as one of Adam Sandler’s best works and hence is noted among the best Adam Sandler movies. Happy Gilmore tells the story of a sociopath. It’s about Sandler’s character’s love for golf and how he becomes a golf hero. His expressions throughout the film prove that he’s one of the best comedians. With a budget of $12 million, the movie made $41.2 million at the box office.

9. Hotel Transylvania 2

A sequel that completely does justice to the prequel. The film begins with Mavis (Selena Gomez) and Jonny (Samberg) having a baby. The film revolves around Drac (Sandler) who is an overprotective father and is concerned about his half-human grandson. The film was a bigger hit than its prequel, grossing $474 million worldwide on an $80 budget.

10. Spanglish

‘Spanglish’ tells us the story of a mom and her daughter who travel to Los Angeles to bring sanity to a crazy family. Adam Sandler plays the father of the family. It’s a good movie with some great performances by Paz Vega and Sandler. This movie made $55 million at the box office. 

11. Hubie Halloween

This movie is a likable one. Even though it’s not the best of Sandler’s movies, It’ll make you laugh and will you keep you hooked for 100 minutes. Released on October 7, 2020, by Netflix, the film received mixed reviews from the audience.

12. 50 First Dates

A rom-com of a girl with short-term memory loss and a guy who tries to get her to love him. The movie stars the duo of Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Their chemistry on-screen was appreciated by the critics and praised the uplifting story. It grossed $198.5 million worldwide.

13. Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation

Another unique entertaining animated film joins our list of best Adam Sandler movies. The wonderful cast that includes Sandler, their voices and their unique style of animation make this the best one out of most animated movies. The film received mixed reviews and grossed $528 million. It is the highest-grossing film in the Hotel Transylvania series. Another sequel is in development. Who else is excited?

14. Murder Mystery

A story of a New York cop and his wife, who goes on vacation to Europe to fix their marriage. Later the coupe gets framed for the murder of a billionaire. The movie has Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston in lead roles. The movie premiered on Netflix and received mixed reviews.

15. Shakes The Clown

The movie is a masterpiece. Released in 1991, the movie is about an alcoholic clown framed for murder. It’s a dark comedy movie and probably one of the best. Sandler’s role in this movie was relatively minor.

16. Anger Management

A 2003 comedy film directed by Peter Segel, starring Sandler and Jack Nicholson in lead roles. The movie tells the story of a businessman who is sentenced to an anger management program. The film was one of Sandler’s best in his career. The film grossed $195.7 million worldwide.

Adam Sandler plays a young man who must return to school and pass all twelve grades to inherit his father’s wealth. The movie might not have got great reviews, but Sandler’s acting was appreciated by critics. The movie was released on February 10, 1995, and made $26.4 million at the box office.

18. Big Daddy

The story of a man who ran away from responsibilities for his whole life. His girlfriend dumps him because he’s immature. To win her back, he adopts a 5-year-old kid. This movie is a typical Adam Sandler movie- charm mixed with humour.  With just a budget of $34.2 million, the movie made $234.8 million at the box office

19. You Don’t Mess With The Zohan

It’s a regular Sandler movie, with so many adult jokes and revolves around the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Sandler plays the role of Zohan, a Palestinian hairdresser. 20. Coneheads

Released on 23 July 1993, the movie is directed By Steve Barron with Dan Aykroyd and Adam Sandler as lead characters. This movie was done during Sandler’s early days in Hollywood therefore his performance didn’t have much effect. Sandler plays the role of a criminal in the movie.

Click is about an architect, who finds a remote that lets him control the universe. But before he knows it, the remote is controlling him, rather than the other way around. Click made $240.7 million t the box office and is one of Adam Sandler’s greatest movies.

Based on the novel, ‘Men, Woman, and Children by Chad Kultgen, this movie shows how we stand in society today; how modern technology has affected human relationships. Technology, which was brought to bring people together had driven them to move away from each other. Sandler’s role in the movie is very effective and proves that he’s a fine dramatic actor too.

23. The Waterboy

The Waterboy stars Adam Sandler as Bobby Boucher, a 31-year old man who cares about providing the freshest and most delicious water for a football team. The movie is perfectly watchable and has undemanding fun. The film earned $39.4 million in its opening weekend alone, earning a total of $186 million worldwide.

24. The Longest Yard

Directed by Peter Segal, the film is a sports comedy and the remake of 1974’s The longest Yard. Adam Sandler plays a former professional quarterback who is in jail. In exchange for his bail, he is forced to assemble a football team to play against the guards.  The film did well at the box office. The opening weekend collection of $47.6 million is Sandler’s highest ever and made $190 million worldwide. The film received mixed reviews.

25. Bedtime Stories

This movie is actually for kids. Unlike most of Sandler’s movies, there aren’t any jokes but can be appreciated by those who are family-oriented and have dreams. Despite receiving mixed reviews, it was a box office success after earning $212.9 million against its $80 million budget.

26. The Week Of

It’s a touching story of heartfelt farewells. The story, written by Adam Sandler, focuses on the importance of family over money and success. The film has Sandler and Chris Rock in lead roles. The movie was released on Netflix on April 27, 2018.

27. Sandy Wexler

In this movie, Sandler plays the role of a talent manager working in Los Angeles in the 1990s. It’s about his love story with his new client, Courtney Clarke, a very talented singer. Sandy Wexler was Adam’s third movie with Netflix. The film was rated average and was released on Netflix on April 7, 2017, with a budget of $24.3 million.

28. Airheads

If you’re a big fan of comedy movies, then Airheads is the movie for you. The film is a comedy movie with a fantastic cast including Adam Sandler. It’s about a band of three musicians, who stage a hijack of a radio station for the airplay of their new recording. Again the movie had mixed reviews.

29. The Cobbler

Critics reviewed this movie as a clever, charming, and frequently touching comedy. It wasn’t a regular Sandler-comedy movie, but till it’s worth the watch. The film was screened at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. Just like most of Sandler’s movies, The Cobbler also received mixed reviews but was considered as a flop at the box office.

Sandler partners with his old SNL colleague David Spade in this Netflix movie. Sandler plays the role of Max and it’s a movie to laugh out loud. With a budget of $40 million, the movie was released worldwide on Netflix on May 27, 2016.

31. Blended  

Another of the best Adam Sandler movies, the film Blended stars the duo of Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Unlike Sandler’s usual comedy movies, the film had some very deep feelings and also portrayed the challenges of single parenting, and Sandler was well appreciated for his role. The film was a hit at the box office, grossing $128 million worldwide against its budget of $40 million.
