Let us remember that it was Sushant Singh Rajput's sheer passion that brought him to Hindi films and not the greed for money or fame. He was a brilliant student, hailing from a family of doctors and engineers - looking forward to becoming an engineer from Delhi Technological University (DTU).

One fine day, he discovered his inclination towards acting and dancing while he was performing on stage. Almost 2.5 years passed in DTU until he dropped out of college to pursue his inner shine and followed it wholeheartedly.

Sushant Singh Rajput Bollywood Movies That End with His Death

1. Kai Po Che (2013)

Based on Chetan Bhagat's The 3 Mistakes of My Life, 'Kai Po Che' marked the Bollywood debut of TV actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The story revolves around the lives of three young boys who are in their tumultuous years and their bonding with each other is out to test.

Kai Po Che is a Gujarati phrase which means I have cut, used usually during the kite flying session of Makar Sankranti. In the end, Sushant's character Ishaan is shot by his friend Omkar (Amit Sadh) in the backdrop of the Godhra Riots. Imagine a debut movie showing the death of a star actor!

How bad a start it was for Sushant Singh Rajput in the Bollywood film industry.

2. Kedarnath (2018)

Based upon the real-life incident of floods in the holy region of Kedarnath, which took away the lives of many locals and pilgrims, the film Kedarnath is yet another visually striking performance of Sushant Singh Rajput.

The story is set in the valley of Kedarnath, starting from Gauri Kund and going up to Lord Shiva's thousands of years old temple. Sushant, a Muslim porter in Kedarnath shrine is loved even by the Hindu pilgrims as he's totally dedicated to his work and helps them complete their holy journey without any hurdles.

He falls in love with the daughter of a popular Hindu priest of Kedarnath. As the story culminates, their love is put to test due to misunderstandings and nature’s wrath of uncontrolled floods. In the end, Sushant Singh Rajput drowns in the flood saving someone else’s life. It will leave you emotional and in tears.

3. Sonchiraiya (2019)

A very underrated and underperforming movie, Sonchiraiya was one of Sushant Singh Rajput’s best performances. An immersive dacoit drama set in the harsh, dusty ravines of Chambal in the 1970s, showed him playing Lakhna, the conscience-keeper of this group of bandits.

His character exuded misery, anger, melancholy, and determination - everything that makes you successful to loot and plunder. There is a moment in the film where Lakhna has a vision of his alternate life, which is very emotional. None of us wants to be a dacoit by choice - it is by chance.

And in the end, Lakhna is shot dead by one of his group members only. If you haven't watched it yet, please watch this Sushant Singh Rajput Film now.

4. Dil Bechara (2020)

Screen adaptation of John Green's 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars, Dil Bechara is a romantic drama that deals with hopelessness associated with illness and the last wishes of a dying person. The two youngsters, Kizie and Manny, are struggling with thyroid cancer and osteosarcoma, respectively.

They bond over movies and music and fall in love, much to their surprise. As Kizie's health goes down and she fears death is near, both of them fly to Paris to fulfill her last wish of exploring the city. It features the last posthumous film performance by Sushant Singh Rajput but sadly ends with his death.

While many raise the question, why Sushant Singh Rajput agreed to do such a small role in PK, to him, it was all about liking the script of the film. It took his Bollywood journey to another level and indeed, it was a brilliant choice. In the movie, Sushant (Sarfaraz) and Anushka Sharma (Jaggu), meet abroad and fall in love.

They ignore the very prevalent Indian phobia of not loving a person from another religion and face the wrath. Their relationship is put to test on the day they finally decide to get married when a Hindu preacher misleads Jaggu and the train incidents force her to believe him.

Later, the truth is revealed by the efforts of a foreign guest, played by Aamir Khan.

It revolves around the independence day celebrations, when Bhuvan Banerjee goes missing and Bakshy gets this case after he had been missing for the past 2 months. 8. MS Dhoni - The Untold Story (2016)

Sushant Singh Rajput himself knew that the movie which marked a turning point in his Bollywood career was none other than MS Dhoni - The Untold Story. Narrating the tale of a living legend, the Captain Fantastic of Indian Cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, this film was much awaited by fans of both Dhoni and Rajput.

It showed the hard work and struggles Dhoni had faced reaching where he is today, and it seemed as if Sushant is living those moments like his own life. Not only did he match the looks of MS Dhoni in all time frames, but also he copied his walk, his politeness, and mannerism, his batting style, and nearly depicted his helicopter shot.

No other biopic in Bollywood has been able to match the bar that was raised by the talented actor in this film.

Recreating the college charm like 3 idiots, Chichhore was a highlight film for Sushant Singh Rajput. The movie progresses in a parallel time frame, where Sushant narrates his college story along with his friends to his son, who had jumped from his balcony for not scoring good marks in an entrance exam.

By way of his college life story, Sushant is able to motivate his son in the ICU to live and to accept that success and failure are part of life. As he dips in the memory bank, his friends join him one by one in the hospital and at home and reunite.

The movie deals with the sensitive subject of performance pressure that students face and ultimately end up risking their lives for it. It also shows the value of parent's support in the lives of children and the wonders friendships do.

11. Drive (2020)

While Drive released on Netflix and received negative reviews, also being called as Netflix’s version of Race 3, it is yet another unique performance by Sushant Singh Rajput. The film involves many high speed chases and a grand heist by a notorious thief and a street racer.

The movie involves an elaborate game of deceit with authorities, who have their own dirty secrets. It is a one time watch, but we can give it a go for Sushant, who kept the audience engaged till the end.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s Message to the World

I an interview with NDTV, Sushant Singh Rajput said -

"We need to have an education that helps us to make the right decisions. We need to accept that it is okay to fail as long as we are trying to do something new. It is okay not to repeat the world and not to be careful as long as we are doing something new."

This is perhaps the best ever definition of life we have come across. But unfortunately, an actor par excellence, Sushant Singh Rajput, left us too soon.

It pains our heart that there will not be anyone like him matching his intellect, loyalty, simplicity, acting, and looks. He was gifted, and maybe we didn't deserve him.

As an ode to this gem Sushant Singh Rajput, we must watch all his films and give him his due. We should celebrate his life and works. We should celebrate his films, which were amazing and different!

We love you Sushant and these movies have made you immortal for us. RIP.
