Faizan Anjum Young Poet From Mumbai Is Emerging Artist in India
Faizan Anjum Poetry -
Zindagi Kya Hai Tera Pta, Nahi Hai Pta,
Hu'n Kahaan Main, Jana Kahaan Hai, Nahi Hai Pta,
Hai Jannat Ki Khwahish Par Marne Se Hu'n Darta,
Ye Saansein Ho Jaye Band Kab Nahi Hai Pta.
Kaun Apne, Paraye Kaun, Nahi Hai Pta,
Khaan Jaakar Sir Ko Jhukaayein, Nahi Hai Pta,
Ye Allah Ka Farman Mera Hi Kyo'n Hai,
Ye Bhagwan Ka Paath Tera Hi Kyo'n Hai,
Ye Diwarei'n Bni Kyo'n, Nahi Hai Pta,
Ye Sarhado'n Pe Jung Kyo'n, Nahi Hai Pta.
Tum Namaste Kro, Mai Salam Arz Kar Du'n,
Tum Vart Karlo, Mai Roza Rakh Lu'n.
Hume Kyo'n Hai Dafnaya, Nahi Hai Pta,
Tumhe Kyo'n Hai Jalaya, Nahi Hai Pta,
Hare Rang Se Kya Naata Mera, Nahi Hai Pta,
Kyo'n Bna Hai Bhgwa Tera, Nahi Hai Pta.
Ho Mandir Ki Seedhi, Ya Masjid Ki Zeena,
Naa Hum Chadh Sakein Hai Wo Sidhi,
Naa Tum Chadh Sakein Ho Wo Zeena.
Ye Kaisi Sarhadein Hai, Ye Haq Kyo'n Hai Cheena,
Btaa'n Kyo'n Hai Hissa, Nahi Hai Pta,
Ye Batwaarei'n Ka Kissa, Nahi Hai Pta.
Taawiz Ho Ya Ho Janeyu Ka Dhaaga,
Prasad Baanta'n Ya Tabarruk Ho Baanta'n,
Somwaari Hai Bhaata Ya Jumei'n Ko Hai Chahta,
Ye Zehan Kyo'n Alag Hai, Nahi Hai Pta,
Chaasni Bhi Alag Kyo'n, Nahi Hai Pta,
Ye Diwas Aur Din Bhi Alag Kyo'n, Nahi Hai Pta.
Veda Ka Ho Koi Shlok Ya Ho Quran Ki Koi Aayat,
Ilm Hai Aman - O - Chain Ki Dono Me Shayad,
Phir Ye Qitaabe'n Alag Kyo'n, Nahi Hai Pta,
Ye Chauraahei'n Alag Kyo'n, Nahi Hai Pta
Hindi Kyo'n Hai Teri, Urdu Kyo'n Hai Meri,
Tu Aachman Krein Aur Mai Karu'n Sehri.
Ganga Ka Pawan Jal Kyo'n Hai Tera,
Aab-E-Zamzam Ke Paani Pe Haq Kyo'n Hai Mera,
Ye Zabanei'n Alag Kyo'n, Nahi Hai Pta,
Ye Peher Bhi Alag Kyo'n, Nahi Hai Pta,
Zindagi Kya Hai Tera Pta, Nahi Hai Pta.
Agar Hum Alag Hai To Kyo'n Behtaa Hai Khoo'n Ek Saa,
Saan's Tu Bhi Hai Leta, Mai'n Bhi Hu'n Leta,
Dhadkanei'n Tujhme Rawaa'n To Mujhe Me Bhi Rawaa'n,
Phir Ye Dil Hai Alag Kyo'n, Nahi Hai Pta,
Tum Hindu Ban Gye Aur Mai' Musalma'n
Afsos Naa Hum Ban Sakei'n Insaa'
Naa Tum Ban Sakei'n Insaa'n.
Zindagi Waqai Kya Hai Tera Pta, Nahi Hai Pta.
Woh Saat Din & Nahi Hai Pata by Faizan Anjum
These lines by Faizan Anjum, a young artist from Mumbai, resonate with each one of us. Especially with people who have had a lot of questions in their minds. This is just one piece of poetry by Faizan Anjum. You can find many more if you start looking out from Faizan Anjum on YouTube.
Coming across many such wonderful works, written as well as performed by him, we decided to know him more closely. Faizan Anjum in conversation with Feeding Trends, revealed a lot of things about himself – as an individual, as a writer, and as a performer.
Poetry writing and performing with such great impact leaves the audience in awe. What do you feel being on the mic whenever you perform?
I don't get carried away with happiness or excitement for getting an opportunity to deliver my piece. It is a great responsibility that I am carrying on my shoulder. As long as the poetry is in my diary, it's mine. But when I read it out it belongs to all the people who are hearing it.
It is theirs. I try to make them feel it is their words, it is their feelings. So, when I perform, I try to put everything, I have into the piece - all my energy and all my emotions into it.
People, like me, may confuse you with any professional artist and we have a fair reason to. Can you let people know what you are presently doing besides this?
I am completing my graduation as a Journalism student. I am aspiring to become a journalist. Professional artist? I haven't ever taken a moment to sit and look at myself in that way.
I just love to write, I feel blessed that I am able to give words to my feelings, which are everybody’s feelings. The romance between my pen, paper and me, is what makes me a poet!
Insha Allah, I will keep this romance alive until the day I stop breathing.
Some or other thing at some or the other point always inspires us to find the direction in which we should move. Who inspired you for starting this poetic journey?
As a child when we come to this world, our first teacher is our mother. My mother not only gave birth to me but also gave birth to a poet within me. I remember her reading Urdu poetries and Hindi stories to me.
This literature environment inspired me towards poetry. The acceleration was given by my journey in Mumbai. That’s all about my poetic journey.
As you said that you have started a talk show - Anjum ki baatein, we are quite intrigued to know about the vision of the show. Please throw some light.
Anjum ki Baatein, is a one of a kind talk show or I should say a heart to heart conversation with some of the most accomplished and loved artists from the realm of arts, television and cinema.
It takes you to the childhood, the hidden anxieties, their lives before fame, their inspiration and their struggles. It brings out some heart-warming and inspiring tales about their life, which we all can relate.
By the time we decided to end our conversation with Faizan, we were quite sure that he has a long way to go. His words are too powerful to power his art.
What do you have to say?
PS: You can say it in comments!
