A day will come when the story inside you will want to breathe on its own. That is when you start writing. That is when the storyteller in you wakes up.
But you don’t need to pile it up into a book. You can spread it in parts like these young storytellers are doing. Remember, a story not shared is a story not served.
Storytelling Open mic event in Varanasi -
Varanasi saw the coming together of various storytellers at Croodsquare Café by way of an event organized by Poetical Boffins. These people were magical, for they dwelled on the holy banks of Kashi and inhaled its spiritual chants. Varanasi has always been famous for its stories and storytellers. This young modern poets from Varanasi will soon become famous artist across India. Thanks to open mic events like these happening in the city of Varanasi, more such talented artist are coming and winning hearts of the people by their stories.

As the series of performances began, the storytelling casted its magic on the audience. The little story by Sukesh Jain, in which he narrated his long-distance relationship struggles, had scenes that had met everyone in their college life.
A similar environment was setup by Yash Sharma, when he shared moments from his love story. After him, Tesu walked to the centre to take us back into 90s childhood. With his beautiful description of 90s childhood, he made us realise that no matter where our tale takes us tomorrow, our story will always originate from our childhood, from the time where our first love lived.
Even Chinmay made us nostalgic. Listening to his childhood memories, we had a light laugh to share with the tiny tears. After him, Prachi shared her life experiences, conveying the beautiful message that we should never lose hope.
This wasn’t the end. Stories that addresses social issues were still unheard. Pushpangana was bold enough to narrate the pain and sufferings from the view point of an acid attack victim and make us sensitise the issue.
Adding more to it, Mehmood Alam stood up to discuss the life of women in India through his story. He strongly conveyed the struggles and sacrifices women do in India, for their family and children. He advocated that they must be given their due credit.

The most amazing part of this day, besides the musical performance by Caspian Key Band, was when the owner of Croods Café, Manisha, narrated the tale of the birth of this café.
Being a witness to this day, we realised that everything is a story.

Some are told. Some are untold.
