Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs is the sub-edition of the popular singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
The show features talented contestants of young age from all around India. This show has given young talented singers a platform to showcase their talent in front of the whole world.
They are judged based on their singing talent, their voice, and their performance.
The show’s first season was aired on 8 July 2006 on Zee TV and is one of the most loved and melodious shows.

1. Sanchita Bhattacharya - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 1 (2006) Winner
At the age of 15, Sanchita Bhattacharya won the inaugural Sa Re Ga Ma L’il Champs season in 2006.
Hosted by Shaan, the show was judged by Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Alka Yagnik, and Bappi Lahiri. Apart from the judges’ verdict, public voting was also taken into count to decide the winners.
2. Anamika Choudhari - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 2 (2007) Winner
Anamika Chaudhary from Assam won the second season of the show.
Hosted by Aditya Narayan, the judges wear Suresh Wadkar and Sonu Nigam. In 2007, the auditions took place in 13 countries and the show featured contestants from all over the world but no foreigner could make it to the final list.
The runner-up of this season was Rohanpreet Singh.
3. Hemant Brijwasi - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 3 (2009) Winner
After a year gap, the show came back for the third season that aired on 5 June 2009 which featured 12 participants; six boys and six girls.
Hemant Brijwasi was the winner of this season.
Like the previous seasons, elimination was done based on the public votes.
Hosted by Dhairya Sorecha and Afsha Musani, the judges were Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Alka Yagnik.
4. Azmat Hussain - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 4 (2011) Winner
The season aired on 3 June 2011 and had a total of 18 participants; nine boys and nine girls.
The contestants were divided into three teams, each guided by one of the judges.
The winner of the show was Azmat Hussain and the runner-up was Salman Ali who later became the winner of season 10 of Indian Idol.
Hosted by Jay Soni, the judges were Adnan Sami, Kailash Kher, and Javed Ali.
5. Gagan Gopalkrishna Gaonkar - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 5 (2014) Winner
The next season in 2014 was won by Gagan Ghanekar from Udupi.
Hosted by Aditya Narayan, the judges were Alka Yagnik, Shaan, and Monali Thakur.
The show premiered on 27 December 2014 on Zee TV and had the highest TRPS food a reality show in India.
6. Anjali Gaikwad and Shreyan Bhattacharya - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 6 (2017) Winners
Hosted by Aditya Narayan, the judges were Himesh Reshammiya, Javed Ali, and Neha Kakkar.
The show had participants between the age of 5 to 14 years and had a ‘Back to School’ format where the little champs represented their schools.
With 14 contestants, the show premiered on 25 February 2017 and towards the end of the competition with contestants with the highest votes were through to the final round.
The winners of this season were Shreyan Bhattacharya and Anjali Gaikwad.
7. Sugandha Date - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 7 (2019) Winner
In 2019, there were a total of 16 contestants who were shortlisted after the mega auditions took place in different states of India.
The show aired on 9 February 2019 and went for 35 episodes.
Hosted by Ravi Dubey, the show was judged by Shaan, Richa Sharma, and Amaal Malik.
The winner was 14-year-old Sugandha Date and the first runner-up was Mohammed Faiz.
8. Aryananda R Babu - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs Season 8 (2020) Winner
The eighth season of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa franchise aired on 29 February 2020 and had a total of 35 episodes.
The show was hosted by Manish Paul and was judged by Alka Yagnik, Himesh Reshammiya, and Javed Ali.
After the mega audition which took place in several major Indian city‘s, the show had 15 contestants and the winner was Aryananda R Babu and the first runner-up was Ranjeeta Banerjee.
The Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champ has been one of the biggest platforms in India for children to showcase their musical talents.
The show has given Bollywood a lot of stars. Let’s hope the show may continue for a long time!
