Until recently, not many young years in the Lucknow city were attuned to the nuances of poetry and prose. But the newest metro city of India could not afford that its rich literary fame in India sublimes in oblivion.
Creating a literary atmosphere on board, the open Mic event titled Navonmesh (S6) was the 4th public event hosted in running metro. On 15th June, 2019, Lucknow Metro had a literary metro ride - first of its kind in India.
Along the 45 minute metro travel, Navonmesh S6 speakers got a wider audience and metro travelers were entertained all along the way. The metro literary event was a rare combination and thus, deserves to happen 'once more'.
From ghazals to shayari, the speakers caught the attention of the passengers travelling from Munshi Pulia to CCS Airport metro. Here are some of the best poetry compositions on ‘Musafir’, penned by Navonmesh S6 participants.
Cherish the poetry on journey of life, written by Pranjal Rai:
Ye jo sheharon ke shor mein dhoondta sukoon hoon,
Ek pal sooni raahon mein mujhe rehne do,
Haan, musafir hoon main,
Mujhe safar mein rehne do!
This piece describes our journey of knowledge, written by Anoop Srivastava:
Kisi kisi ko adhik aastha, kisi kisi ko kum bhi hai,
Kisi kisi ko gyan adhik, aur kisi kisi ko bhram bhi hai,
Shand bhangur jeevan se maine bas itna hi jana hai,
Ek musafir aap yahan par, ek musafir hum bhi hai.
Next couplet that won our hearts was written by Prabhat Tripathi:
Ek musafir rehna hoga, kalam se sab kuch kehna hoga.

And this one is about endless sojourn, written by Anshuman Kuthiala:
Musafir hoon yaaron, bahut chalna hai mujhe,
Aaram ko mayassar, ek pal na hai mujhe..
Safar se humko kya mila, shikwa iska kya gila,
Khatam karo ye silsila, ki ab nikalna hai mujhe…

This prose piece by Ahutosh Pandey narrates the similarity between journey of life and the journey of train:
Rail apni manzil ya meri manzil par pahunch gayi.
Log hi log, logon ki bharmaar.
Kya yeh wohi log hai jinhe main peeche chod aaya hoon?
Ho bhi sakta hai. Na unko janta tha, na inko janta hoon.
Yani poora safar main anjaan hi raha.

Next in the row is an anecdote by Nitanshu Singh:
Kisi ka charasaaz,
Toh kisi ka ghamguzaar hoon yaaron,

Karna chaha sabne ruswa mujhe kae naamon se,
Aadatan phir bhi kehta hoon,

Journey of love was missing from the Metro event until poetic Ramakant Sharma recited this piece:

Lucknow Metro is slowly becoming a hub of literature and art. Events such as chess tournament, mushaira, and poster making competition have also been organised in the running metro previously.
All these Lucknow Metro events have been a hit among the commuters as they add aesthetic value to commuter’s daily monotonous lifestyle. Like always, the commuters enjoyed the metro ride even more with Navonmesh S6 organized by Ashish Shukla(DigitalAshish) happening live before them.
