Harry Potter appears as the most beautiful journey and Harry Potter characters are the best of friends. From the beginning where we see little Harry living in a crooked room below the staircase, to the end where he along with his friends fight the most dreaded villain Voldemort as a strong and confident teenager, we long to live the fictional life of Harry Potter.
When the grown-up adult Harry Potter comes to drop his child for the Hogwarts journey, we wish we were that child. We witness the change in Harry. But do you think it happened just because of him? Of course not, it was his teachers and mainly friends.
From Dobby to Neville Longbottom, all friends of Harry Potter, who stood all along the journey with him, made it a memorable one. Here are a few Harry Potter characters who made us long for them in the real-life:
1) Ron Weasley
This role is played by Rupert Grint. This Harry Potter character is a boy with red hair and freckles on his face. He is the youngest boy in his family who goes to Hogwarts like his elder brothers to become a wizard. A kind-hearted soul and little humour are what describes his character.
Ron met Harry on the Hogwarts Express and they instantly clicked. Their friendship is filled with childish jealousy and lots of stupid fights but still a bond that’s stronger than steel. Ron was a person who made Harry’s journey in Hogwarts a bit easy by being on his side through all the downs and also exciting by becoming a partner in crime.
Also, a great force behind Harry to defeat Voldemort.
2) Hermione Granger
This role is played by Emma Watson. The Harry Potter character is of a girl who is resourceful, principled, brilliant and very disciplined. Initially, she thinks that Ron is a notorious person but when Harry and Ron save her from attack by a troll during Halloween party, they become friends.
A true example of a boy and a girl can be best friends. She is a person who gives them strength and guides them through all the tough situations. A mindful person who thinks before doing something.
She is the one who planned everything during the hunt for Horcruxes, from invisibility cloak to tent, to reference books, to the supply of polyjuice potion. She also is a great force behind Voldemort’s death. These three show us that a group of three friends are the strongest.
3) Dobby
Dobby is Harry Potter’s minion. Among all the Harry Potter characters, Dobby is a fictional character of an elf who serves the Malfoy family and initially is against Harry because his owner commands him to do some tasks against Harry.
But later he becomes fond of Harry when he frees Dobby from the abusive hands of Malfoys by giving him a sock. He then becomes Harry’s friend who warns him of all the mishappenings in Hogwarts and Chamber of Secrets. This character then sticks with Harry until the end and stays loyal to him all along.
4) Albus Dumbledore
This role is played by Richard Harris. He plays the Headmaster of Hogwarts and a supporting professor of Harry. He is the one who brings Harry to Hogwarts and therefore is the most important of all Harry Potter characters.
Albus Dumbledore protects and guides Harry all along his journey in Hogwarts. A teacher who becomes a friend is someone who can be your strongest strength because he has more experience than you. Truly their bond makes us feel to have such a teacher friend in our lives too.
5) Hagrid
This role is played by Robbie Coltrane. Hagrid is Harry Potter’s strength. He is a kind-hearted giant in Hogwarts who is the keeper of keys and grounds. Hagrid is a Harry Potter character that is loved by all.
Hagrid becomes Harry, Ron and Hermione’s friend from the beginning and helps them know the secrets of Hogwarts. He is though a teacher but also a guiding force behind Harry who plays the role of a friend, teacher, and a guardian in Hogwarts.
6) Neville Longbottom
This role is played by Matthew Lewis. Among all Harry Potter characters, Neville Longbottom is a shy, clumsy and introverted guy who later faces Voldemort and the evil forces head-on.
Neville Longbottom who is initially the least popular student in the class and stays at the back always becomes Harry’s friend and stays loyal to him. In the end, he also gathers all his strength to fight the unavoidable evil.
7) Luna Lovegood
This role is played by a Harry Potter character which seems magical because she looks so perfect. From her looks to her skills, everything seems good about her. She becomes Harry’s friend and joins Dumbledore’s army to fight against the evil Voldemort and save Hogwarts from falling into ruins.
8) George Weasley
This role is played by Oliver Phelps. He is a mischievous member of the Weasley family who along with his twin causes problems in Hogwarts. He becomes Harry’s friend as his younger brother Ron is Harry’s friend and also he guides Harry like an elder brother.
He also helps Harry fight against Voldemort and is one of the beloved Harry Potter characters.
9) Fred Weasley
This role is played by James Phelps. He is the twin brother of George and has the same character as him. He also plans mischievous events in Hogwarts and also a friend and older brother for Harry.
Fred dies in the battle against Voldemort in the end. He is one such Harry Potter character who made me realise what loyalty and brotherhood are.
10) Cedric Diggory
This role is played by Robert Pattinson. This Harry Potter character appears during the Triwizard Tournament. He is a seeker and senior of Harry who becomes his friend during this tournament. He dies during the tournament because of the evil deeds of Voldemort.
11) Oliver Wood
This role is played by Sean Biggerstaff. A Harry Potter character who is warm-hearted and has leadership qualities. His role in Harry’s life is that of a senior and a seeker in a Quidditch game. He teaches Harry how to play the game and also become a good seeker and in the process becomes a very dear friend.
12) Draco Malfoy
This role is played by Tom Felton and his character in Harry Potter is that of a Malfoy family’s heir and Harry’s competitor. His personality is a little rude and prudent. Though he never becomes Harry’s friend but sometimes more than a friend, a foe can make you grow and strive for even better. Thus I believe that even though he never became Harry’s friend but was always with him till the end.
Special note - Hazel Keech, an Indian model and actress revealed that she was a Hogwarts student. Hazel Keech worked in Harry Potter movies in part 1,2 and 3. She said that she shared the same stage with Harry, Hermione and Ron.
