1. Fanney Khan Release Date Was Postponed As It Landed Into Legal Trouble

The movie Fanney Khan was earlier supposed to be released on Eid this year (June 15, 2018), but due to legal trouble initiated by Hindi film producer Vashu Bhagnani, the film’s release was postponed.

Vashu Bhagnani (owner of Pooja Entertainment Films Limited) had claimed rights for the distribution of the film, Fanney Khan, all over India and also, credits as a co-producer, which were promised to him by initial producers,  KriArj Entertainment.

However, due to non-payment of dues, KriArj Entertainment discontinued the making of Fanney Khan and Bhushan Kumar of T-Series took up the production of the film in April 2018.

In the event of change of producers, no mention about Vashu Bhagnani’s rights and credits were made to T-Series. Hence, the film received a green signal to be released on August 3, 2018.

2. Anil Kapoor, On-Screen Fanney Khan Considers SRK And Aamir Khan As The Off-Screen Fanney Khans

The first prompt in your mind must be, ‘Why Anil Kapoor calls Shahrukh Khan as Fanney Khan?’ And it is totally justified. After all, Anil Kapoor and SRK have not shared a lot of screen space.

But this does not means that the two for them don’t share a great bond. Anil Kapoor has respect and admiration for Shahrukh Khan’s work and so does SRK. In fact, there is a  fun equation between both the actors, which was seen during Sonam Kapoor’s reception, when their dancing videos went viral over the internet.

via

In a recent tweet, Anil Kapoor mentioned that SRK is a Fanney Khan because he is one of the kindest actors you will ever meet. But this was just one part of it. Anil Kapoor made another tweet in which he mentioned that why Aamir Khan is a Fanney Khan because he leaves no stone unturned to entertain his audiences.

I am now wondering when shall he reason out Salman Khan’s being Fanney Khan.

3. Fanney Khan Is A Remake Of The Belgian Film 'Everybody's Famous', Written And Directed By Dominique Deruddere

Fanney Khan is inspired by the 2002 Belgian comedy film, Everybody's Famous. A vital message that the movie sends out is that people must believe in themselves and the magic that they have within.

The plot of Everybody’s famous has Jean, a family man and factory worker who wanted to be a songwriter. He pinned his dreams on his teenage daughter, Marva, and takes her to singing contests.

The awkward and overweight girl struggles to sing but is quiet unsuccessful. Jeans is then fired from the factory and he becomes more desperate to make his daughter famous.

Jeans kidnaps the most famous pop star of the nation and holds her in hostage demanding his daughter to be heard by the nation. The father daughter duo thus catch eyes of the nation and media, realising that the show must go on until everybody’s famous.

The same theme inspired director Atul Manjrekar to remake the film in Hindi, titled Fanney Khan.

4. Fanney Khan Happens To Be The First Ever Bollywood Film To Deal With The Subject Of Body Shaming

Yes! The fact that Fanney Khan discusses the impact of body shaming on teenagers, especially girls, makes the film so very special. By way of a father - daughter relationship, director Atul Manjrekar has done justice to the ignored theme.

In the movie, Lata Sharma (played by Pihu Sand), daughter of Fanney Khan is overweight and has a carefree body. In her several failed attempts to sing on the stage, she suffers taunts and remarks, which are not only humiliating but also hurting.

via

However, her father, Fanney Khan (played by Anil Kapoor), stands by her and dedicates himself to make her a great singer like Lata Mangeshkar. He makes all possible efforts - best costumes, makeup and all, but nothing except confidence helped.

How one looks or what body structure one has is a natural thing. It does not mean that the person is less talented or less capable. Fanney Khan is one movie that tells us to keep our self-confidence high.

The song, ‘Tere Jaisa Tu Hai, Mere Jaisi Main Hoon’, penned down by Irshad Kamil, composed by Amit Trivedi and sung by Monali Thakur  justifies the message of Fanney Khan.

5. Shooting OF Fanney Khan Was Halted As Aishwarya Rai’s Costumes Were Re-designed By Manish Malhotra

You heard it right. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who plays Baby Singh in the film Fanney Khan, gave an exit notice to the makers of Fanney Khan because she was not satisfied with the costumes designed for her by Manish Malhotra.

via

In an attempt to retain Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the film, the shooting was halted till Manish Malhotra redesigned her outfits. Manish Malhotra, who in his 28th year as a costume designer, had to recreate it, suiting Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s persona.

As per the sources, these outfits were worn in the song ‘Mohabbat’, sung by the pop sensation—Baby Singh. And it had to be very attractive. After all, Baby Singh is every guy’s dream girl, much like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is in real life.

6. Recreated Iconic Track Of Mohammad Rafi, ‘Badan Pe Sitare’ Finds A Place In Fanney Khan

The song, Badan Pe Sitare has been recreated by Amit Trivedi and sung by Sonu Nigam For Fanney Khan. It was unveiled on Mohammed Rafi's 38th death anniversary by Anil Kapoor and was trending on 8th on YouTube in India.

Anil Kapoor can be seen dazzling in a retro golden outfit while singing the iconic ‘Badan Pe Sitare’, much like the original song, which was picturised on actress Vyjayanthimala and late veteran actor Shammi Kapoor. The original song was a part of the 1969 film, Prince.

The addition of this song to Anil Kapoor starrer Fanney Khan has been termed as the tribute to the greatest Fanney Khan of all times, Mohammad Rafi.

7. Fanney Khan Is Expected To Make A 3 Crore Opening At The Box Office.

The release of Fanney Khan is to clash with two movies. The first one is Mulk, with Rishi Kapoor and Tapsee Pannu in lead roles and the second one is Karwaan with Irfan Khan in the lead role.

However, it is not a tough fight as the latter two films are not promoted well and don’t have a dazzling star cast like that of Fanney Khan - Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Raj Kumar Rao.

via

And so, while Fanney Khan is expected to do an opening of 3 crores at box office, the other two movies are expected to get 2 crores each in the opening. That’s a huge difference.

8. Fanney Khan’s Song 'Mere Achhe Din Kab Ayenge' on 20 July But Changed It A Week Later

The makers of Faney Khan launched the song ‘Mere Achhe Din Kab Ayenge’ on 20th July, circling the struggles and grievances of Fanney Khan (played by Anil Kapoor), a common man.

However, a week later, on July 28th, they released a new version, titled 'Mere Acche Din Ab Aaye Re'. You know why? Because there were a lot of attacks on the Central Government and PM Modi, in close reference to the phrase, ‘Achhe Din’, which was used by BJP in 2014 elections.

via

The new video along with the song was released as the older version was unnecessarily taking a political colour. As the film was already in controversies, they makers and director, Atul Manjrekar chose to avoid this.

Fanney Khan is all about dreams and determination to achieve your dream. If you are a #FanneyKhan you will relate to this film for sure.
