The X-Men is a well-known superhero team to everybody who is a great fan of Marvel Comics. And the films we are going to talk about today are based on those Marvel Comic heroes.

No doubt, the X-Men series is unparalleled among the film franchises. 

The X-Men Cinematic Universe has been enduring for the last 20 years straight and there’s no pointer of ceasing. Even when we had the notion that Dark Phoenix which was released in 2019 is going to be the final installment of the X-Men series, the producers came up with The New Mutants in the midst of the COVID pandemic.

The film bagged the place of seventh-highest-grossing film of 2006, grossing $459 million worldwide.

Logan was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 90th Academy Awards, raked in more than $619 million worldwide, and bagged the place of third-highest-grossing R-rated film of the industry.

3. X-Men: Beginnings films (2011-2019)

i) X-Men: First Class (2011)

X-Men: First Class is the fifth movie in the X-Men series. It is directed by Matthew Vaughn, produced by Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, and Gregory Goodman, and released in 2011. 

Set in the year 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis, the plot of the movie focuses on the budding friendship between Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto and the emergence of their groups, the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants, respectively. 

This movie bagged the place of the seventh highest-grossing movie in the X-Men series.

ii) X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

It revamps her into the Phoenix as she gets enthralled by the tantrum and pain from her past.

The film became the highest-grossing film in the X-Men series, earning more than $785 million worldwide.

5. The New Mutants (2020)

The New Mutants is the latest movie in the X-Men series. The film is directed by Josh Boone, produced by Simon Kinberg, Karen Rosenfelt, and Lauren Shuler Donner, and was released in 2020 during the COVID pandemic.

Being the thirteenth installment of the X-Men series, the story of the movie follows five young mutants fighting to save themselves from the incursions of paranormal beings while they are held up in a secret hospital.

Due to the pandemic, the film drew only $46 million worldwide, much less than its budget of $67 to $80 million. 

This movie in the X-Men series list is the first film in the X-Men series which took a turn to the horror genre.

Surely we, the fans, are waiting to get surprised with another installment just like The New Mutants was released in 2020 when it was thought that Dark Phoenix will be the last installment of the X-Men series.
