Writing for Who?
Where is the purpose?
I sat in my kitchen wondering what to write today since I had many roaming ideas in my head that I wrote in my notebook. Keeping close to yourself a pad is an important thing. That way, you can’t forget what you want to write.
I read daily Medium posts of the people I follow to learn more about their personalities.
I like short forms of writing, and so will be my post.
The writer is painting with his words different topics all writers should think about from various points of view. The purpose of writing connects writers and their followers’ steps. The readers will read the writer because they can find themselves in the writing style of one person. It is like putting shoes on their feet and walking the writer’s path they read.
I don’t know your writing’s purpose, but you should know better why you write and what you want to give to the readers?
Will you try to change or inspire People’s lives?
However, here I end the small talk and be concrete. It is principal to decide who you write to based on what you can enrich in people’s lives. To find out your purpose in writing, ask yourself these questions if you want to find the answer:
What do I want to share with you?
Will I give you my hand when you need it?
Can you be my journey companion?
Will you care for my feelings?
Do I care for your feelings?
Will my words hurt you or give you another point of view?
Do you listen to what I say between the spaces?
Can you think outside your own mind’s box?
In general, these questions gave me the purpose of my writing. Probably, my post sounds basic and not so high-leveled and intelligent, but remember that serious questions can divide into simpler ones. When there is simplicity like “Yes” or “No,” the answers are easy.
The purpose of writing should be something that changes people in one way or another for the better, not for the fun or the money. Many writers go with the flow, losing their individuality for the wealth, but that works for a short time.
The writers who listen between the dots of communication with their readers succeed in the long-term period.
Many readers go into the book-reading world for quitting reality or finding a way to move on. They are like you, the writer, and here is the equality between both parties.
Successful writers should not write only for themselves and put the glasses on their readers’ lives. That is my opinion, though.
I hope it helped you. If not, thank you for reading.
