Located in Nottingham, England is Trent Bridge Stadium Stadium, an English sports stadium used mostly for cricket and formerly for association football. It was established in 1841 and is a regular venue for international cricket. It is the home ground of the Nottinghamshire county cricket team. The cricket venue is equipped with floodlights for day-and-night games.

History

As Captain of the All England Cricket Team, William Clarke opened the ground in 1841 on behalf of his wife, the proprietress of the Trent Bridge Inn. In 1990, the William Clarke Stand, which includes the Rushcliffe Suite, was dedicated in his honor. Sir Julien Cahn, a furniture millionaire, often hosted national sides at the West Park Sports Ground in West Bridgford.

In 1899, Trent Bridge hosted its first Test match, and it remains one of the most popular international fixtures to this day. There used to be a shared home between Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and Notts County Football Club, but when the football and cricket seasons began to overlap (as early as 1910), the football club moved to Meadow Lane which was a couple hundred yards away. Gary Sobers, Clive Rice, and Richard Hadlee are among the cricketers who have graced Trent Bridge and left a permanent mark on its history. The ground has hosted a number of memorable moments in international cricket, including the famous 1965 win by South Africa and Graeme's century that is still regarded as one of the finest South African innings.

More recently, the Radcliffe Road and Fox Road stands have created one of the best viewing grounds in the country, thanks to their stylish architecture.
