10 Toxic Traits Based On Your Zodiac Sign — Leo Edition

They’re many good traits of being a Leo, but there are some pretty harsh traits too, which can be a little difficult to admit

I love being a Leo, were honest, ambitious, and we have a great sense of humor. But we can also be very stubborn, quick-tempered, and childish. Yes, I’m about to be brutally honest and reveal some rather harsh facts about us Leo’s, so if you’re thinking, “Ummm no, we don’t have any toxic traits.” Then stick around because we most certainly do, and we’re going to talk about them right now.

Not everything resonates with me, there are a few things that couldn’t be further from the truth, but we’re going to talk about them anyway because even though they don’t sound like me, they could sound like you.

Number 1 — Jealous/possessive

Leos can be very jealous and possessive during relationships. Usually, a Leo can be distant from others — but when it comes to a loved one it’s a completely different story. I’ll admit that I can get a little jealous and possessive occasionally, but I’m not that bad. I’ve been with my partner for 15 years now and he’s extremely outspoken, so I’m sure he would’ve confronted me if I was acting this way.

Number 2 — Needs constant attention

A Leo needs affection and attention a lot during their relationships, and If they’re not receiving any, then they will happily find it somewhere else. They will probably not cheat, but they’ll start speaking or hanging out with someone else who will give their ego a little boost.

I can relate. I’ve had a few discussions with my partner asking if anything is wrong between us because we’ve barely spoken for days on end — or he seemed more interested in playing FIFA than speaking to me. I’d never cheat though because I’m just not that kind of person, if I was truly unhappy in my relationship, then I’d speak up and decide enough was enough.

Number 3 — Temper

A Leo tends to explode into a full-blown rage when they feel disrespected. They’ll express their anger by throwing temper tantrums, calling people names, and saying certain things that are guaranteed to make you feel like utter shit. They can be very harsh with their words and if you’re on the receiving end, then prepare to be cruelly judged.

I’m a very calm, quiet, and anxious person who despises conflict. However, I’ll admit that when I’m angry — I can be very harsh and stern. I won’t yell and scream at you, but I will say nasty things, I will make you feel like crap, and I will call you names. This sounds awful but it’s true.

I in no way enjoy acting this way, and afterwards I’ll feel incredibly guilty and regret everything I said. I feel that this is mostly because I spent years hiding away in my own little world letting others take advantage of me, so now I will not hold back and I will speak up when I have to.

That being said, It takes a lot for me to react like that — I think the last time this happened was around 7 or 9 years ago when somebody really pushed me to my limit, so I’m doing pretty well controlling my temper these days.

I think I will write about my past anger issues in a separate article because I have a lot of stories.

Number 4 — Entitled

Leos expect to be adored, flattered, and worshiped by everybody. They believe that they’re entitled to act all high and mighty, and everybody must bow down to them.

Ummm, that’s not the case for me. I like to be alone, I love my own space, and I suffer enormous anxiety, so being worshipped and flattered by everybody would make me feel incredibly anxious — so no, I’m definitely not entitled.

Number 5 — You don’t have a toxic trait

Yes, a Leo would click on this article and immediately think that it’s a load of rubbish because a Leo would never admit that they have a toxic trait. In their eyes — they’re flawless and perfect.

I know I have many toxic traits, and I’m not perfect in the slightest.

Number 6 — Can’t accept criticism

Leos think they’re the best of the best, and are not equipped to deal with any kind of criticism.

Yes, I’m guilty of this, I have written over 150 articles on medium so far, and on a few of them, I have received the odd comment criticizing whatever I’ve spoken about, and I have responded. Not in a harsh way, I’ve just let the person know that I’m grateful for the feedback, but they didn’t have to be so harsh.

Number 7 — Judge a lot

A Leo will try not to judge others, but when they see someone taking the absolute piss and taking advantage of certain things, they can be extremely judgemental.

I barely spend time with others because I much prefer to be at home in my safe little bubble away from all the drama, so I don’t have an opportunity to judge others. However, there are afew people in my life that really aggravate me, so I suppose I can be a little judgemental sometimes.

Number 8 — Interrupting

Leos love attention and want everything to revolve around them, so they will have no problem interrupting others when they speak so they can steal the limelight. I lack the confidence to interrupt people, so I’m more of a say what you want kind of girl while I sit quietly in the corner.

Number 9 — Tells it like it is

A Leo will have no problem telling you when you’re wrong. They’re open and honest and crave attention, so if you’ve accidentally pissed a Leo off, then be prepared because they will come for you and make you recognize your mistakes.

Yes, I’m slightly honest. Obviously, I will not abruptly accuse you of lying while shouting and screaming at you — but I will confront you and call you out on your bullshit if I feel the need to.

Number 10 — Hard to admit when they’re wrong

Leos hate being in the wrong. They feel inferior to everybody else, so when somebody points out their flaws — they will not take this lightly because they can see this as a sign of weakness

It takes a lot for me to swallow my pride and admit when I’m wrong. However, if I am proved wrong, I will suck it up and apologize for acting like an ass.

My god, I never knew I had so many toxic traits. Even though there are so many bad traits, there are also lots of good ones too, but I’ll save that for another article.
