Torres Scores a Hat-Trick as PSG Thrash Slovan in Champions League Opener

Paris Saint-Germain began their UEFA Champions League title defence in spectacular fashion, defeating Slovan Bratislava 6–1 at the Parc des Princes. The reigning champions produced a dominant attacking display, with new signing Ferran Torres stealing the spotlight by scoring a hat-trick on his Champions League debut for the club.

Torres Shines on European Debut

Torres made an immediate impact after joining PSG from Barcelona. The Spanish forward scored his first goal in the 31st minute, finishing from an Ousmane Dembélé delivery.

He continued his impressive performance after half-time, scoring again in the 47th minute. Torres completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute, giving PSG a commanding 5–0 lead. It was his first-ever Champions League hat-trick.

Dembélé Leads PSG's Attack

Before Torres took centre stage, Ousmane Dembélé had already put PSG in control. The Ballon d'Or winner scored twice in the opening half and also provided two assists for Torres.

Dembélé opened the scoring in the 17th minute before adding his second six minutes later. His combination with Torres proved particularly effective throughout the match.

PSG Complete a Six-Goal Rout

Slovan Bratislava managed to score a consolation goal through Suleiman Camara, but PSG quickly restored their dominance. Fabian Ruiz added PSG's sixth goal in the 88th minute to complete a 6–1 victory.

PSG also dominated the match statistically, recording 72% possession and 35 total shots compared with Slovan's nine.

A Strong Start to PSG's Title Defence

The victory gives PSG an ideal start to their Champions League campaign as they attempt to defend their European crown. The French champions will face tougher challenges later in the competition, but their opening performance demonstrated the attacking quality and squad depth available to Luis Enrique.

For Torres, the night was particularly significant. After scoring regularly in his early matches for PSG, his Champions League hat-trick could mark the beginning of an important chapter in his career

Conclusion

PSG's 6–1 victory over Slovan Bratislava was one of the standout performances of the opening Champions League round. Ferran Torres' hat-trick, combined with Dembélé's two goals and two assists, gave the European champions a perfect start to their title defence.
