The Most Effective Morning Habits to Get You Through the Day
I love the early mornings because it is one of the most peaceful times of the day. Generally, I wake up at 5 a.m. on weekdays but I might wake up around 8 a.m. on weekends. If you have a structured yet enjoyable morning routine, it makes the rest of your day run smoothly. Here are some good morning habits to get your day off to a great start.
Write In Your Journal
There is something about journal writing that allows you to get your thoughts out and plan for the day. Or maybe you desire to write prayers to God and seeking direction in your life when you don't know what to do in certain situations. Journaling also quiets your mind and lets you relax before the stresses of the day begin.
Drink Water
One reason why it's a good idea to drink water when we wake up is that as we sleep, we lose hydration and by drinking water in the morning, we hydrate ourselves and it sets the tone for a healthy body and mind during the day.
Do Some Workouts
If you want to get your heart pumping as you start your day, exercise after you wake up and drink water. Working out can also relieve stress in your life and it gives you the energy you need to do your tasks for the rest of the day. Some good workouts are brisk walking, aerobic exercises, running, and strength training.
Have A Relaxing Skincare Routine
Most of us wash our faces in the morning, but we can turn it into a relaxing experience by establishing a good morning skincare routine. Start with a facial cleanser then apply some moisturizer and serum on your face. If you need to exfoliate, you can do this in the morning too. A skincare routine provides you with healthy and clear skin throughout the day.
Engage In Satisfying Lovemaking
If you can, enjoy some amazing sex with your spouse early in the morning before the both of you start your daily routines. Sex is a fantastic way to bond with each other in the morning, and it can create anticipation for more lovemaking later on in the nighttime.
Make Your Mornings Screen-Free
Ditch the bad habit of checking your phone or looking at new emails first thing in the morning. Reduce this temptation by putting your phone in a different room before you go to bed at night. Replace screen time with more productive activities such as reading a book, listening to soft music, or tidying up the home.
Enjoy A Healthy Breakfast
Another part of your routine is to enjoy a healthy breakfast. It doesn't have to be a big breakfast. Some light breakfast ideas include a bowl of oatmeal with fruit, toast with peanut butter, fruit salad, or scrambled eggs with turkey bacon.
Read A Good Book
Some of the most successful people in the world credit reading as one of the reasons for their success. This is why it's wise to include reading in your morning routine. Read books on topics that interest you the most and that will assist you in reaching your goals.
Check In With Your Parents
If your parents live out of town, call them in the morning before you leave your home. It helps you connect with them and it gives you an idea of how things are going with them. You can also check in with siblings, friends, or adult children who live out of town.
Prepare Your Home Office For The Day
If you work from home, get your home office ready for the day. Gather all of the documents you'll need to complete your assignments. Turn off all notifications on your computer and phone to minimize distractions. Check all new emails and respond to them before you start working. Tidy up the office and get rid of unnecessary clutter.
When you have a solid and productive morning routine, the rest of your day will run smoothly.
