The film "The Last Lear" has many references of Shakespeare's works like "A midsummer Nights dream", "King Lear" etc. Starring Amitabh Bachchan as Harish Mishra,Preity Zinta as Shabnam, Arjun Rampal as Sid, Shefali Shah played Vandana, Divya Dutta as Ivy, Jisshu Sengupta as Gautam and Prosenjit Chatterjee played Rajiv.

Harish Mishra an retired actor convinced to start acting again by a young director Sid but it would require a lot of adjustment for him to fit into the new world of cinema and bring about changes that he would definitely deny from accepting. It's about theatric skill lost amidst new world of cinema seems as a silver screen is literally drawn upon the Harry performing on stage and the Harish Mishra being introduced to camera. a film within a film elevated the story and revealed the underlying stories about personal lives and their adversities of all the characters.

Vandana Shabnam and Ivy talked us through the film flashbacks knotted to presence created in order which is very intimate to our realities.

Sid potrayed an out of the box character struggling to fit the truths of life inside his mind as if his consciousness has always tormented him so very deeply.

Time and patience plays an enormous roll in this film. It's is the driving force that sets the scenes into motion. Ivy awaiting for her boyfriend to arive and then Vandana and Shabnam waiting for it change in harish's health and this anxiousness is shared by many other, it is almost like awaiting from miracle to happen. Death is inevitable accepting him like an old friend is the better way. Hiding from verities is like being stuck with the same chords of the guitar.

This movie lures us through its layers creating a beautiful spectacular Symphony of theatrical monologues memories and emotions.

If one is looking for a entertaining art film with great cast I would suggest this is the film for them.Everyone can bring out one unique definition of the film through their perspective.
