The Guide to Hotel Gaming!
Okay gamers, I’ve been doing a little research on gaming spots to make our own and it turns out that we can take any old Hotel that we go to and turn it into a popular gaming spot. How you ask, it’s simple. But, before I get into that, it is worth noting that Hotels set gamers up to fail and here’s why I say this.
Many Hotels today are built with televisions that doesn’t do such a good job going back to the ‘past’ the Ch.3 hook up. All of the televisions these days are flat screens that have HDMI hook up which makes gaming possible or does it?
I was at a hotel once and I brought my PS4 with and what ended up happening next was a real shocker, I brought my console and hooked it up to the television that I couldn’t even game on, ironically. I wanted to go home right away, but I stuck it out. From that point on, I swore that I’d find a way to actually be able to play my games while chilling in a hotel.
This happened again on the day of my daughter’s birthday party which took place at a hotel only this time, it wasn’t me trying to hook my console up to the television in hopes of playing my games. Actually, it was my wife’s nephew. Despite the repetitious misgivings of his great grandmother, the young boy looked to me to aid him to this regard which also flopped.
Then something dawned on me, these hotel televisions are built around accommodating older people, older mindsets, older generations; there are 70 and 80 years that play video games even those younger than that. But gaming people, there is an out; a way for us to play our video games while chilling in the cut at the hotel.
All you got to do is, bring your own television. Preferably the one that you game on. Yeah, yeah, I know that it might not seem that simple, but I assure you it is. See, hooking up a gaming console in the back of a hotel television flat screen is complicated to a very Nth degree only for the fact that it isn’t built like the television you game on at home.
Personally, I don’t think I’d ever take any of my consoles with me to a hotel even at the point of taking my own advice and I say this because not all people were raised around what you were. To us gamers, our consoles, games, everything that it entails that is everything to us. We have to make sure that our gaming gear is taken care in every way, shape and form.
My kids know not to put their hands on anything that has gaming or has to do with my gaming gear because I treat my gaming gear like fine China. But, if you’re ever going to a hotel with it being just you, bring your own television so you can game on it because as long as there’s an outlet in the room, you’re golden.
Also, I want to go on record as saying that the hotel clerks at the desk don’t know shit about any of that so don’t bother asking them, they barely know their ass from a hole in the ground so you know they’re going to be useless when it comes to getting answers to that regard of any kind.
