India is celebrating 72nd Republic Day today. This republic day after and in between covid will be very different.

This year on 26 Jan 2021 spectator will be very limited as the size has been reduced to 25,000 from around 1.25 lakh last year on republic day.
The year only 4500 tickets have been made available to the general public. Also, this year everyone will be in Mask. No standing spectator is also allowed.
1- Last year on republic day marching contingents size was 144 whereas this year on 26 Jan 2021 the marching contingents will be just 96.
2- This year gravity-defying stunts by motorcycle-borne men did not make the cut.
3- The parade will also be shorter this year. The parade that ends on red fort every year will end at National Stadium this year.
First time in 55 years, there will be no chief guest and republic day parade will happen without a chief guest. Boris Johnson expressed his regrets as he won't be able to visit India due to covid in the UK.
Tableaux(Jhaki) will be allowed to perform at Red Fort.
Ladakh Jhaki (Tableaux)
The union territory Ladakh will be participating for the first time. Ladakh will showcase Indian Astronomical Observatory, located at Hanle near Leh.

Bangladesh to participate in republic day parade
Bangladesh will participate for the first in the republic day Parade. As a gesture of thank and friendship. Also, this year marks the 50th Year of Formation of Bangladesh. This will be 3rd time any country will be participating in Parade after France in 2016 and UAE in 2017
