“New Year, New Life” Is Bulls**it | Be Adventurer

The alarm clock rings and for the umpteenth time you feel the weight of the universe crushing you to the ground.

You feel yourself being trampled to the soil by an imaginary brute force that is slowly sucking the energy out of you and slowly burying you.

You did not realize it, but all this time the days have passed and you have allowed the weight of life to prevail on you. Then, as always, comes the first day of the year and with it you set yourself new goals and the typical phrase “new year, new life”.

But is it really necessary to wait until the new year to introduce new changes?

Every day you have the choice to react

Too often we look for excuses to feel better about ourselves, almost to comfort ourselves and not feel guilty if we keep putting things off.

This is certainly not a good habit, but it can be “tolerable” (in a certain sense) when it comes to day-to-day tasks. However, when one’s mood and health are at stake, one cannot compromise.

How many times have you waited for the start of a new year to begin a new habit or introduce simple changes to your routine?

As far as I’m concerned often, too many times, and I’m sure we’ve all been there, but in this regard I’d like to ask you a thought-provoking question:

If today was your last day on earth, would you be happy with the way you are living your days?

Stop and think about it for a few moments and continue reading.

Often this question is useful to shake our heads a bit and reflect seriously on our life situation.

“Now is the right time”

Honestly: what exactly are you waiting for?

Don’t you think that maybe the right time is now?

There is no such thing as “in a minute”, “tomorrow”, just as there is no such thing as “yesterday”.

All that matters is today and this exact moment. Now, more than ever, you have the chance to shine and it is up to you to choose whether you continue to extinguish yourself or light a match and shine a light on yourself, radiating with a glow and illuminating the universe.

Nothing and no one more than you can do what you think you are capable of doing.

Believe in yourself and take charge of your life with grit and tenacity because these are the qualities that will take you far.

Won’t it work? At least you can say you tried! But above all, instead of always thinking “what if it goes wrong?”, have you ever tried to ask yourself “what if it goes bloody well?”

Think less and act more

“New year, new life” is the biggest bulls**t of the century.

Try instead to think “new day, new life”, because every morning when you wake up and get up from your bedroom mattress you have the chance to start again, and dream and work on your projects and dreams and build relationships and love yourself.

This is my biggest piece of advice for you.

Sometimes (too often) we constantly think about the consequences of events and therefore end up doing absolutely nothing.

So today, right now, I invite you to roll up your sleeves, take a big breath and get ready to take a big leap into your new life: the chance you have every day to start again.

I hope these few lines have helped you to reflect and realize that there is nothing that matters more than this exact moment.

Have a good life!
