Murudeshwara Temple is located on the Kanduka hill in the Indian state of Karnataka and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This is the second-largest lord shiva statue globally and is located on the Murudeshwar temple.

History of Murudeshwara Temple
You know that the period coincides with the Ramayana. It is said that when Lankan husband Ravana, after worshiping Lord Shiva, was going towards Lanka with his Atmalinga, then he had to keep the Atmalinga on the ground on the way. As a result, Shiva Linga was established at the same place.
Ravana tried his best to lift the Shiva Linga; after failing, he established the Shivling at the same place and moved towards his city. The cloth with which the Atmalinga was covered flew off and fell into the Mrideshwar, known as Murudeshwar.

The temple remains closed from 1 pm to 3 pm.
Darshan Timings: 3:00 PM to 8:15 PM.

Murudeshwar Temple Entry Fee
No entry fee is charged from the devotees visiting the Murudeshwar temple. But Rudrabhishekam ticket at Murudeshwara temple is Rs 55 for two persons.
