Contrastes

Director: Jean Dewever , Robert Ménégoz

Year: 1960

Plot: Investigation on an area of South-West France upset by the discovery of a gas field in Lacq. A mushroom city has sprung up and the country lifestyle is upset. It has not quite disappeared, however. Stemming from this observation, the two filmmakers explore the contrasts between the remains of rural life and the ultra modernity that offers both new ways and a new conditioning to the local people.—Guy Bellinger
