1. Girls Like You

Took a whole day up trying to get way up, ooh
We spent the daylight trying to make things right between us”

Part of Maroon 5’s sixth album - Red Pill Blues (2017), Girls Like You is one of their most sung along Maroon 5 songs. This Adam Levine feat Cardi B song has a lively and upbeat tempo.

Girls Like You topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for seven weeks and was noted as the fifth best selling song of 2018 by IFPI.

2. Animals

“Baby I'm preying on you tonight
Hunt you down eat you alive
Just like animals
Animals, Like animals”

This pop genre Maroon 5 song was part of their studio album ‘V’ released in 2014. This song peaked at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was in the Top10 for almost fourteen weeks.

The music video of this song was a controversial news topic at the time due to its disturbing cinematography and was criticized by many. This song has energetic, dance-like vibes and is moderately paced at about 95 beats per minute.

3. She Will Be Loved

“I don't mind spending every day
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved”

She Will Be Loved is the third single released in 2004, from their debut studio album Songs About Jane. This song was written and composed by Adam Levine and James Valentine.

This song falls under the genre of Pop rock or soft rock. This song follows on to a beautiful story about a young troubled beauty queen and how she’ll always be loved.

The lyrics and the steady tempo of the song make for a soothing listening. This Maroon 5 song was also featured in the Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth starred movie - The Last Song.

4. This Love

“I was so high I did not recognize
The fire burning in her eyes
The chaos that controlled my mind
Whispered goodbye as she got on a plane
Never to return again but always in my heart, oh”

This Love falls under the category of pop-rock/alternative rock. This is the second single to release from their debut album - Songs About Jane, in 2004.

This song won a Grammy Award for the Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 2006. Adam Levine even confessed on a talk show that he wrote this song during his ‘most emotionally trying time’ in his life.

5. One More Night

“So I cross my heart, and I hope to die
That I'll only stay with you one more night
And I know, I said it a million times
But I'll only stay with you one more night”

One More Night was released in 2012 as part of Maroon 5’s album ‘Overexposed’. This pop song is about a man who is guilty about staying in a relationship only for sex, but at the same time can’t help himself.

This pop-reggae production is catchy and of a moderate tempo. The lyrics are also something we all relate to.

6. Payphone

“I'm at a payphone trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you
Where have the times gone?”

Out of all Maroon 5 songs,  Payphone is a widely known one and was released in 2012. This pop/ R&B genre soundtrack is from their fourth studio album - Overexposed.

This song even includes a rap verse which is sung by Wiz Khalifa. This song won the Teen Choice Award for Choice Break-Up Song in 2012 as it talks about a recent break-up.

7. Memories

“Here's to the ones that we got
Cheers to the wish you were here, but you're not
'Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
Of everything we've been through”

Memories is a lead single from Maroon 5’s upcoming seventh album. This pop song is little different from the band’s usual upbeat tune. Adam Levine during an interview with Radio Now 92.1 in September 2019 said, “This song is for anyone who has ever experienced loss.

In other words, this song is for all of us.” This song was released as a tribute to their long-time manager - Jordan Feldstein.

8. Sugar

“I want that red velvet, I want that sugar sweet
Don’t let nobody touch it, unless that somebody’s me
I gotta be your man, there ain’t no other way
‘Cause girl, you’re hotter than a southern California day”

Sugar was recorded as a single for Maroon 5’s fifth studio album - V, released in 2014. This funk-pop, disco genre musical production was originally written by Mike Posner’s album - Pages, but when the release of that got cancelled, he forwarded it to Maroon 5.

Sugar has a moderate tempo with about 120 beats per minute. The grooving rhythm and catchy lyrics in Adam Levine’s voice make for a fan favourite track.

9. Moves Like Jaggers

This electro-pop and disco track is a single from the re-release of their fourth album - Hands All Over (2010). Having topped charts in 18 countries, this song was a commercial success and loved by music critics.

The song also features Christina Aguilera alongside Maroon 5, who together portray the sexiest chemistry in the music video. The song has a tempo of about 128 beats per minute, which automatically makes it the perfect song to dance like Mike Jagger.

10. Don’t Wanna Know

“I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no”

The repetitive and easy lyrics and the tropical house beats of this Maroon 5 featuring Kendrick Lamar song makes for a great song to groove to. This Maroon 5 song is housed under their latest released album - Red Pill Blues (2017).

This is another one of those post-breakup songs wherein you dance and drink to forget the pain of losing someone you believed was the one. But instead of being a sad, mellow song, it’s upbeat and lighthearted.

11. Harder to Breathe

“You drain me dry and make me wonder why I'm even here
This double vision I was seeing is finally clear
You want to stay but you know very well I want you gone
Not fit to fuckin' tread the ground that I am walking on”

Harder to Breathe is Maroon 5’s debut song. It was released as a part of their debut album - Songs About Jane. It’s a funk-rock/ pop-rock track with a heavyweight on electric guitar and drums.

The song was written by Adam Levine and Jesse Carmichael. Harder to Breathe was the last written and recorded song of their debut album and was written under the pressure of the record company.

12. Love Somebody

“You're such a hard act for me to follow
Love me today don't leave me tomorrow, yeah
But if I fall for you, I'll never recover
If I fall for you, I'll never be the same
I really wanna love somebody”

This contemporary-pop fusion soundtrack is from Maroon 5’s album - Overexposed. It is one of the best Maroon 5 songs, and it has the complete feels of being in a toxic relationship, where you’re desperate to stay even when you know you shouldn’t.

The song follows a heartbeat tempo and will definitely stir you towards the dance floor.

13. Makes Me Wonder

“Give me something to believe in
'Cause I don't believe in you anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to try
Yeah, so, this is goodbye”

Makes Me Wonder is from Maroon 5’s second album - It Won’t Be Soon Before Long and was released in 2007. It ranked number 1 on Billboard Hot 100 and was a commercial success.

This Alternative Dance-pop/rock song is about failed love relationships. And like every Maroon 5 song, this too is upbeat and something you’d end up grooving to.

14. Wake Up Call

“If you needed love
Well, then, ask for love
Could have given love
Now I'm taking love
And it's not my fault
'Cause you both deserve
What's coming now
So don't say a word”

This is another pop-rock song released by Maroon 5. The song is unsurprising cherry with a heartbeat tempo, despite being a song about catching your SO cheating red-handed.

Wake Up Call is part of their second studio album - It Won’t Be Soon Before Long and was released in 2007. It was written by Adam Levine and James Valentine.

15. Beautiful Goodbye

“I count the ways I let you down
On my fingers and toes but I'm running out
Clever words can't help me now
I grip you tight but you're slipping out”

Maroon 5 songs are usually fast and upbeat, but this track is different. It is slow and soothing. It is about saying goodbye to a dwindling relationship, to the love once shared.

The lyrics are sad, but the music and the composition of the soundtrack leave you with happy tears. This pop song is included in their 2012 release - Overexposed.

16. Sad

“Oh, but I'm scared to death
That there may not be another one like this
And I confess that I'm only holding on by a thin thin thread
And I'm kicking the curb cause you never heard”

Maroon 5 songs almost never include a piano ballad, but this soulful track - Sad, written by Adam Levine and James Valentine does. This piano ballad with a tempo of 116 beats per minute was released in 2012 as a part of their album - Overexposed.

Adam Levine’s low and high tones throughout the song are electric enough to give you goosebumps all over. The lyrics of the song are simple and have the power to resonate with anyone who’s going through a heartbreak.

17. Goodnight Goodnight

“I'm sorry
I did not mean to hurt my little girl
It's beyond me
I cannot carry the weight of the heavy world
So goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight”

Goodnight Goodnight is another one of Maroon 5’s soulful soundtracks. Released under the It Won’t Be Soon Before Long album, this pop-rock song was written by Adam Levine.

The slow, steady beats of the song and Adam Levine’s vocals really bring to light the heaviness and regret of saying hurtful things or things left unsaid.

18. Maps

“So I wonder where were you?
When all the roads you took came back to me
So I'm following the map that leads to you
Ain't nothing I can do
The map that leads to you”

Part of Maroon 5’s fifth album ‘V” (2014), Maps is a well-received song by music critics. The lively and upbeat tempo of the song paired with Adam Levine’s shrilly, pitchy vocals makes for a chart-topper. This pop-rock soundtrack is about finding lost love.

19. Tickets

“She's got tickets to her own show
But nobody wants to go
And I'm stuck sitting in the front row
I'm singing along like there's no tomorrow”

'Tickets' is a single from Maroon 5’s album - Overexposed. It was written by Adam Levine, James Valentine and Mickey Madden. The song is about ‘ a typical LA moron’ as phrased by Adam Levine.

The lyrics are catchy and match perfectly with the upbeat tempo of the song, and fits right into their pop-rock style.

20. Fortune Teller

“I'm not a fortune teller, I won't be bringing news
Of what tomorrow brings, I'll leave that up to you
I'm not a fortune teller, don't have a crystal ball
I can't predict the future, can't see nothing at all”

Fortune Teller is another song from Maroon 5’s album - Overexposed. It is another one of James Valentine's creations. This is one of those Maroon 5 songs that has an acoustic feel to it, but at the same time, it’s also a song you can vibe and dance to.

This song is about wanting to stay in the safe/honeymoon phase instead of talking about the future because they don’t know what it might hold.

21. Feelings

“I got these feelings for you
And I can't help myself no more
Can't fight these feelings for you
No, I can't help myself no more”

Feelings is a dance, disco genre song from Maroon 5’s fifth album - V. The song has a heartbeat tempo, which makes you groove to the heartbreaking lyrics of the song. It was released in 2012. This song falls under the label - 222. Interlope.
