Major Abhishek Singh Won Shaurya Chakra Making Us All Proud

This article is about one of the great warriors of the Indian Army and a beloved son of our mother Earth, Major Abhishek Singh.

Every day, there are so many soldiers sacrificing their sleep so that we all could live peacefully. It gives us goosebumps when we just think about a daily routine of a soldier. Wonder how they live that happily every day!

A lot of us dream about becoming a soldier in the Indian Army and serving Mother Earth but only a few get to fulfill their wish. Major Abhishek Singh was one of these and always had a dream of becoming a part of the Indian Army.

You know, as it is said, if your destination is clear, you'll always find the path to reach it, Abhishek did the same. It was a bumpy ride but the destination was worth it.

Who is Major Abhishek Singh?

Major Abhishek Singh comes from Uttar Pradesh and mostly lived in Mahmudabad and Lucknow in his childhood. He was always keen on the Indian Army and from a very early age, he started his study and a lil bit of training by himself. His actual journey started back in 2014 when he cleared his CDS exam and finally took the first step to fulfill his dream of becoming a part of the mighty Indian Army. He started as a Lieutenant. From thereon, he never looked back and served Mother Earth with all his heart.

Major Abhishek Singh of the 50th Battalion, the Rashtriya Rifles, has been a great leader and an important asset to his team. He has been a part of many successful operations where he eliminated terrorists showing bravery and valor.

The story behind getting the might Shaurya Chakra Award

 

Major Abhishek Singh was part of an operation, Operation Zoiu, in a district of Jammu & Kashmir on January 6th and 7th in 2022, where he observed 3 suspicious people who started firing on being questioned.

 

Major Abhishek Singh managed to get one of the suspicious persons down and the other two ran away and hid in the area.

The search was alarmed and the remaining two terrorists were surrounded in an alley between the houses. Major Abhishek Singh once again showed his courage and lead the team to bring down these two terrorists as well.

There was open fire from both ends but Major managed to shoot down and injure the second terrorist. A sigh of relief but it was not all!

In between the firing, the third terrorist threw a hand grenade injuring Major Abhishek Singh's left eye. When it's a matter of serving Mother Earth, no injuries can stop a soldier.

Despite being injured by the hand grenade and bleeding all over, Major Abhishek Singh continued to move in. His efforts were soon rewarded and he managed to locate the third terrorist as well who was hiding and continuously firing at the soldiers.

Major Abhishek Singh disregarding his own safety and injuries gathered his courage and kept moving in. He finally managed to get to a position from where got an advantage of shooting down the third heavily armed terrorist (category A+ foreign terrorist).

Moments like this give you an endless amount of goosebumps. What Major Abhishek Singh did was a commendable example of courage and bravery.

The Indian Army awarded Major Abhishek Singh with the mighty SHAURYA CHAKRA on 26th January 2023 for his exceptional leadership and bravery.

Shaurya Chakra is third in order of precedence of peacetime gallantry awards and comes after the Ashoka Chakra and the Kirti Chakra.

 

Major Abhishek Singh has surely set an example to all the young aspirants of his area, rather whole country. He not only made Mother Earth proud but also left his parents, siblings, friends, relatives, and people of his area in tears of joy and pride.

This was just one of the stories of just one soldier of the Indian Army that surely must have given you goosebumps.

There are so many Major Abhishek Singh out there who are continuously doing such stuff happily on a daily basis. We are so proud to have such an army.
