Summers have arrived after bone-chilling winters. The need for cold drink and beverages is once again soaring. However, the most interesting part of these summers is the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
It is time to decide who would be the head of the country for the next 5 years. On 23rd May 2019, The Republic of India will know its new representatives. These elected representatives will form the 17th Lok Sabha of Independent India.
Who will win, and who will lose, is subjected to the choice of voters, and obviously, on the credibility of EVM. However, even before the elections are held, the contestants try to influence the voters to cote in their favor.
2019 Lok Sabha Election Scenes
Like always, the fiery speeches of the Leaders are being delivered in abundance. Blaming opposition for the current bad situation and applauding oneself for the development is all around (if the leader is from the ruling party and vice-versa).
In one such fiery speech, the All India Congress President, Rahul Gandhi gave a slogan, which could be the game changer of General-Election 2019. The slogan was, “CHOWKIDAR CHOR HAIN”.In this slogan, NARENDRA MODI is referred to as the ‘Chowkidar’. In no way, the term Chowkidar is used as a ‘derogatory’ or ‘defaming’ word by the opposition.
This was further justified when the Indian PM, in his succeeding speech called himself the ‘Chowkidar’. What a tragedy of our country! Or wait, what a strategy of BJP!
Chowkidar - Pride and Prejudice
The man India elected as the Prime-Minister of India in 2014, Narendra Modi, today takes pride in proclaiming himself as the ‘Chowkidar’ (watchman), just to spill water over the plans of opposition.
But I wonder if India ever wanted its Prime-Minister to take pride in being called a ‘Chowkidar’? Is that the significance of the position in a democracy?
PM of India came up with an innovative slogan, “MAIN BHI CHOWKIDAR”, giving a tight slap on the face of the opposition, especially, Indian National Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
BJP conducted an event titled “MAIN BHI CHOWKIDAR” on 31st March 2019 to convey that each and everyone who thinks about the nation and prevents damage to it is a ‘Chowkidar’.
On twitter, #MAINBHICHOWKIDAR was trending and was retweeted almost 70k times.
Fun Fact – The PM of India, who has belittled the post by calling it ‘Chowkidar’, has successfully convinced my fellow Indians that being ‘Chowkidar’ is a pride job. As a result, many profiles over social media have the prefix ‘Chowkidar’ attached to them.
Chowkidar Narendra Modi’s Performance Analysis
The reason why Prime-minister of India “NARENDRA MODI”, called himself ‘Chowkidar’ is that he believes, he is protecting India from the evil ideologies, seditious and separatist Indian leaders, and terror plotting external forces of the world.
If this is the reason why he calls himself CHOWKIDAR, I as the responsible citizen of India would love to know if he, as the Chowkidar of this nation, performed his CHOWKIDARI well.
If it is all positive, I and my fellow Indians will have an incentive as well as a reason to appoint him again as CHOWKIDAR once again. Let us have a look at the 7 fronts where ‘Chowkidar’ Narendra Modi took active decisions:
After the URI LAND STRIKE and PATHANKOT AIR STRIKE, it became a well-known fact that government of India deserves praise for its brave decision to fight terrorism. The following victory adds more charm to it, however, only when the causalities of action are minimum.
Only when the cost-benefit analysis of defense decisions is significant, the ‘Chowkidar’ has performed his duties well. Sadly, the number of soldiers martyred in the Modi era been highest in the last 8 years.
What was Chowkidar’s Foreign and Internal policy if the number of soldiers dying increased so rapidly, that too in an age of modern technology? On defense front, the Chowkidar failed.
Chowkidar Narendra Modi promised in 2014 to bring back the black money. But I will be soft here as after all Jaitley G said, “All money deposits in Swiss bank are not black money”.
So, I am not wasting time assessing this. It was a sugar-coated failure. But, what about Mehul Chowski, Vijay Malaya, and Nirav Modi, who successfully left India after being a defaulter?
Arey, Laa Nahi Sake Toh Jaane Mat Dete! Gladly, Chowkidar failed here too.
Coming to the demonetization stunt, which was justified as a step towards putting an end on black money, counter-terror funding and fighting against forfeit currency, did no good.
500 and 1000 rupee notes were made a non-legal tender fortnightly and the results still are unclear. To some, it was revolutionary and to others, this move took India back to penury.
In the absence of any official govt data, reaching a conclusion is disgusting. So Chowkidar failed here or succeeded depends entirely on the personal grievances faced during demonetization.
The Ideology of ‘Chowkidar’ in India finds its roots in “HARDCORE-HINDUTVA”. In simple terms, promoting Hinduism ideology is the motive of BJP.
But I want to know whether ‘Dalits’ are Hindus or Christians? If they are Hindus, then why were they beaten up to Blue in Una? Doesn’t the Hindutva advocate to protect them?
I am ashamed to have a ‘Chowkidar’ who did nothing at this instance. Oh sorry, The Hardcore Hindutva is only for propagating communalism in India – to create a divide between Hindus and Muslims.
I remember an incident when a police inspector was killed in UP by HINDU VIGILANTES and no action was taken by UP govt, led by BJP.
If the same ‘Chowkidar’ is appointed again, how things will turn I don’t even want to imagine. The ‘Chowkidar’ failed terribly to maintain secularity in our nation.
In the last 70 years, since our independence, there was conflict among government and autonomous institutions. That is necessary since parties frame populist policies while autonomous institution keeps long term vision in mind.
In Chowkidar Narendra Modi tenure, 2 Governors of RBI resigned, top-notch officials of Statistical department resigned, and the row over CBI chief is known to everyone. Were personal issues the only reason for such resignations?
If the top-notch officials of this country resign, one after the other, who will provide the unbiased result of policies framed? The Chowkidar failed. He could not keep his strongest warriors to work un-biasedly.
Chowkidar Narendra Modi promised to give 2 crore jobs annually. Years have passed since the day the promise was made. Forget jobs, the data on job generated in the Modi era are not available.
PM of India gave every Graduate engineer, Doctor, and Graduates of other disciplines the opportunity to open “PAKODA STARTUP”. Long live the dreams of a person who wants to make India a superpower and want his country’s youth to sell pakoda!
I will be glad if he himself opens a “Pakoda stall” and faces the challenges of having one to inspire budding entrepreneurs. The Chowkidar failed here too. How many youngsters will vote for him now?
7. Democratic Principles
We the people of India elected a PM in 2014 in a democratic way, but bad luck, he became a ‘Chowkidar’. On the democratic front, the state of UP in 2017 gave a phenomenal majority to BJP, hoping the arrival of ‘Achhe Din’.
People thought Keshav Prasad Maurya, the deserving candidate and the man behind this instrumental win would be in power. But, Yogi appeared all of a sudden and was made CM.
A party leader, who does not practice intra party democracy, can’t be expected as democratic. My slogan is ‘CHOWKIDAR DEMOCRATIC NAHI HAIN’. He massively failed here.
The failure points of 'chowkidaar' are endless. And if I mention more, his party would call me anti-national, owing to their habit. I know that criticism can be valid or invalid, but calling critiques antinational is something India has not witnessed since the last 70 years!
According to me, voting for CHOWKIDAR in 2019 general election is akin to giving the responsibility of a safe filled with diamonds/precious ornaments in the hands of someone, who neither understands nor wants to understand the value of safe.
Will you appoint the ‘Chowkidar’ again?
