Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869 in a Gujarati family. His father was a diwan of Rajkot. He was interested in law since his childhood.
At the Inner Temple London, Gandhi first employed nonviolent civil disobedience as an expatriate lawyer in South Africa, in the resident Indian community's struggle for civil rights.
After his return to India in 1915, he set about organizing peasants, farmers, and urban laborers to protest against excessive land-tax and discrimination.
Assuming leadership of the Indian National Congress in 1921, Gandhi led nationwide campaigns for various social causes and for achieving Swaraj.
His strength and ideas were accepted and appreciated by all Indians. During his life span, he inspired many.
Be it for his non-violent policies or his satyagraha movement, he filled the people with the feeling of patriotism, strength, courage, love, relationships, and education.
