  • Join the network of the Linksys RE6800 Extender with your PC.

  • Open a browser and type the Linksys RE6800 Extender's default IP address into the address bar.

  • Use the "admin" default password to log in.

  • Click "Firmware Upgrade" while you are on the "Administration" screen. Look for the latest updates.

  • Download the latest firmware version that is currently available.

  • Don't unplug your extender until the process is complete.

  • The Linksys RE6800 Extender will restart automatically after the firmware upgrade process is finished.

  • To confirm the firmware version update, log back into the device's web interface once more.

Linksys RE6800 Extender Reset process
