Ios 16: 5 Settings You Should Change
Already installed the new iOS 16? You should change these settings immediately.
iOS 16 is a worthwhile update that brings a number of useful features to your iPhone, fixes security flaws, and improves the overall appearance. In some cases, Apple has added new elements that tend to be annoying. In this article, we will show you how to disable them. However, some very welcome new options are disabled by default, and we'll show you how to turn them back on.
1. View battery indicator percentage
With the arrival of iOS 16, Apple brought back the battery percentage indicator, which was removed from the iPhone's status bar in 2017. However, you have to switch them on specifically in order to activate them.
Open Settings
Select Battery and enable Battery charge %
At the time of writing, the iPhone XR, 11, 12 mini, and 13 mini models do not support this feature, although there is hope that a future iOS 16 release will support it.
2. Disable the new search function
On the iOS 15 home screen, you'll see a small icon between the Dock and the other app icons. It displays a series of dots indicating how many home screens you have and which one you are on. After updating to iOS 16, this icon will be replaced with a magnifying glass icon, duplicating the Spotlight feature accessed by swiping it down on the home screen. If you find this unnecessary and/or distracting, you can also disable this feature:
Open Settings
Choose Home screen
Disable Show on Home screen
3. Enable haptic keyboard
In iOS 16, Apple finally offers an option to turn on haptic keyboard feedback even without keyboard noise. However, you must first activate this function:
Open Settings
Select Sounds & Haptics
Tap Keyboard feedback and turn on haptics
4. Cancel emails: Extend up to 30 seconds
Since iOS 16, Apple's Mail program has allowed you to cancel sending emails. The function is set to 10 seconds by default, but you can extend this period of time up to 30 seconds.
Open Settings
Choose Mail
Scroll all the way down and tap Unsend Delay
Choose from 10 seconds, 20 seconds, or 30 seconds
5. No more accidentally ending calls
Many iPhone owners are familiar with the problem of accidentally pressing the side button during a call. By default, this will end the call - but in iOS 16 Apple is adding a new option that no longer allows this. This feature is called Prevent Call Termination by Barring. If you still want to end calls using the side button, you need to disable the feature again:
Open Settings
Tap Accessibility
Select Tapping and disable the Prevent calls from ending by barring feature
