What Is Special About KA Worksheets?

Whether they are on our website or mobile app, all the worksheets are checked by the neural network algorithms to confirm that the task was completed correctly. To train the neural network to recognize right and wrong answers, machine learning technology was used. 

To score points, the technology used in the worksheets utilizes various types of checks, such as object circling and number or letter tracing. Computer Vision (classic image processing algorithms) carry out the checks of labyrinths, tracing and ticks in checkboxes. This range of checks offers the learners a variety of assignments, so that they do not get bored by completing worksheets with the same topic. You may be wondering who chooses which type of check is used. It’s our graphic designers’ job. They make this decision taking into account the type of the task and margins of error in the answer variations.

How Do I Get Access to the Interactive Worksheets?

Interactive worksheets are available both on our website and in the Talented & Gifted app. We guess you may be familiar with the worksheets in our app, so we want to explain how to use them on our website.

For example, if  you have a second grader, find the tab ‘Learning resources’ on the Kids Academy website, choose ‘Worksheets’ from the drop-down menu and select 2nd grade worksheets in the menu on the left. Next, choose the worksheet you need. To get started, click on the ‘Complete Online’ button.

We recommend using touchscreen devices while working with interactive worksheets. To complete the assignments, kids can use a finger or stylus. This is an excellent way for your child to practice number recognition, tracing letters and writing. Interactive worksheets are compatible with all browsers. We recommend that you use an iPad, or another similar tablet-like device.

To begin working with the worksheet, press the Start button. Like in our app, you can use ‘Pencil', Eraser', 'Clear all’ and ‘Task Complete’ functions, as well as sound and voice. The function of selecting the next or previous worksheet is also available. 

The worksheet will turn green if the task is completed successfully, then you can go on to the next task. If the task isn’t completed correctly, the user will hear an encouraging phrase and will get another chance to finish it.

Thus, the child receives support and positive evaluation of their attempts and is not likely to get discouraged or depressed if not all their answers are perfect. The encouraging phrase ‘Let's Try Once Again’ sends a message that there is no rejection on the part of the primary caregiver.

Please note that although we offer one the most extensive worksheet catalogs, the assignments are suitable for grades from Pre-K to Grade 3.

To help kids learn, our website also features interactive games. While there are games that require a subscription to the app, some of them can be accessed right from your browser. If you want to practice math skills such as counting and tracing numbers, these games a wonderful opportunity to do so.  You can use a touch-screen tablet or a laptop with a mouse. These games, supplemented with the worksheets provided in each lesson, can be used as a way to boost counting and early numeracy skills.

All learning resources are now arranged in a ‘Lessons’ tab, which makes it easier to find the resources your kid needs. Go to this tab to see all the topics and then select the one that suits your child's needs.
