Ice Cube From ‘America’s Most Wanted to Trump’s Golden Boy

Ice Cube took heavy fire on social media; namely, Twitter, where the hashtag #IceCubeIsASellout went viral, and the rapper was dragged for working with the Trump administration on “Platinum Plan.”

Twitter users criticized the rapper and actor Ice Cube after Trump’s senior advisor Katrina Pierson thanked him on Twitter with a shoutout “for his willingness to step up and work with Donald Trump’s administration to develop the so-called “Platinum Plan.” Destined to help Black communities.

She wrote, “Leaders gonna lead, haters gonna hate. Thank you for leading!”

Ice Cube was forced to render an explanation on Twitter that apparently clarifies Katrina Pierson’s reasoning and his involvement in Trump’s administration plans:

When Ice Cube left N.W.A., fans were doubtful if he still had the same fury shown on the band’s seminal album, Straight Outta Compton, released in 1988.

His solo debut, Ameri***a’s Most Wanted, was released in 1990, and fans were overwhelmed. Ice Cube could still deliver bursts of caustic lyrics, as the album was socio-politically charged.

Nevertheless, it was Death Certificate that saw Ice Cube become a true solo activist, firing in all directions against drugs and drug dealers, Law, law enforcers, the government, and all of those exploiting the black community. This was his triumph, as Ice Cube raised to Rap stardom.

Nowadays, Ice Cube’s is no longer the champion of a sieged community, giving his body to the bullets while shouting the lines from “Us” on top of the barricades, calling everyone to action.

However, years later, Robin Hood became the sheriff of Nottingham, as Ice Cube embraced Hollywood as a rising star. The rapper was well on his way to arise as a corporate tycoon.

Thus can we blame both friends and foes for calling Ice Cube a “sellout” as he grew from being “The rapper you love to hate” to becoming Trump’s golden boy?
