I Am More Than A Mom

Hello everyone I'm a mom. I am a mom of five biological children and two bonus children. Yes, that gives me a total of seven. And yes, it's his hectic as it sounds.

What's frustrating is I am 31 years old and most individuals I come in contact with look upon me as if I am just a mother. Just a grown woman who carries snacks in her purse, watches cocomelon until my eyes bleed, and can remember all the characters from the TV show PAW Patrol.

In reality I am a dreamer, an author, a painter, pretty good with a crochet hook, a wife, a daughter, an inline skater, and someone with an emotional mind. To look at me you would never see any of those things. What you would see is a woman with hair that looks like it hasn't been brushed in days, bags and her eyes from being up all night, and a horse voice from yelling at her children all day.

Yes, I am a yelling parent and very proud of it.

When I was young I wanted to be a dancer. I spent all my time practicing routines and was even enrolled in a college out in New York city. However, God had other plans and 3 weeks before I was due to head on my way to the adult world... I got pregnant with my now 11-year-old son Samuel.

He doesn't see me as more than a mom either.

Please don't misunderstand, I love being a mother. Getting to watch my young children grow into human beings that will one day Run the World along with the other children of their current age gives me Pride. I just don't want being a mom to be the only thing I will ever do. I do not disagree that it will be the best thing I ever do, but not the only thing I will ever do.
