The incident of rape and murder of a postgraduate female medical student at R G Kar Hospital Kolkata has generated a fear wave in the young generation especially those who belong to the medical field.

It is tough to believe that this is the 20th century. If professional women working in a professional environment are not safe, where will they be safe? This event has left several questions in the minds of experienced and working women.

She was a female trainee doctor in a state-run medical college and hospital who was sexually accused and murdered in the emergency ward of the hospital on Friday. The Indian Medical Association has taken serious action and given 2 days ultimatum to arrest the person involved in this humiliating act.

It is more shameful that different organizations have tried to declare this act as suicide even though all proof is against it. Luckily, the cascade of evidence and efforts of the victim’s family has led this case to the right track, and the truth is exposed.

Do you think that girls are safe in any place? This incident had left an enduring impact on everyone’s mind. Although the protest about this incident is being made everywhere it cannot bring her back and replace the deprivation of her loved one.

Hospitals are also called human service providers because patients find the treatment of their ailments here and get benefits. After this incident, it is believed that humanity is nowhere in hospitals and other such places rather they are crime places.

It is difficult to express the heartbreak in words when her dead body was found on the 4th floor of R G Kar Hospital in the seminar hall. It was semi-covered and bleeding from different body parts. The broken spectacles at the place of the incident are a sign of resistance shown by her.

It is the most required breakthrough in this incident that police have arrested one suspected person who had left one of his Bluetooth earphones at the place of a criminal act. This has made it easy for police to detect and arrest the criminal.

This misfortune is indigestible for the family and friends of deceased young doctors as well as for those who are linked to this profession in any medical college and hospital in India. It has ignited outrage among doctors and students who have demanded a prompt case probe.

The whole West Bengal is in a state of protest but this protest could not answer the questions on the security and safety of medical institutes in India. It may somehow help to frighten criminal gangs to slow down such activities because this is not a single-person game.
