Ermayi Waterfalls is located in western ghats in Dakshina Kannada. Ermayi waterfall is a secret multi-layered waterfall that is hidden in the foothills of the Ballalarayana Dura range. Ermayi waterfalls attract the visitors in monsoon season with full glory and flow of water. The specialty of Ermayi waterfalls is it falls or slides down from rocky terrain from 75ft and it forms a pool at the base or bottom. The beauty of the pool is it is about 5ft deep where you can enjoy swimming with your friends and family. Make sure that you need to take care not to get too close to waterfalls, as in monsoon season the waterfalls tend to have more speed inflow.
The most interesting and amazing thing about Ermayi waterfalls is it allows the adventure freak to climb up to different levels of Ermayi falls. But take care that the rocks there are slippery and covered with moss. You can see some of the people are sitting behind the waterfalls and clicking some beautiful pictures and enjoying their trekking. But be careful and take guidance from local trekkers as it is difficult trekking and many of the people have lost their life.

There are no restaurants or eateries near the Ermayi waterfalls, so it is better to carry your food. As Ermayi waterfalls is a remote place and as per the guidance of local trekkers, The Elephants visit the Ermayi waterfalls at the night to drink water that is the reason that the Ermayi waterfalls are closed at night and no one is allowed to camp around.
Ermayi waterfalls are 3km to 4km distance from Kajoor Darga which is situated on the main road. You can hike for 2km and then reach the destination. As there are no proper signboards, take directions from the locals and reach the Ermayi waterfalls.

The best season to visit Ermayi waterfalls is the Monsoon season. Because you can enjoy the high flow of water or waves which are falling from high hills. You can enjoy the cool nature and water dropping on your face with your friends and family.
HOW TO GET FIT FOR THE TREK:
Before starting your trekking get fit with your body by doing some basic exercise and do a warm session. Make sure your health is fine and perfect. As it involves crossing hills, walking, and trekking make sure your leg portion is perfect without any obstacles. Take all the necessary things with you and take energy drinks and food. Eat fruits and dry fruits.
THINGS TO TAKE FOR THE TREK:
There are some essential things one should take care and take with them are personal medication, sweaters, a strong backpack, camera(based on the individual), sunglasses, sunscreen, energy food like chocolate bars, flavored milk, electrolyte drinks, glucose, etc., torch, water bottles, mosquito repellent cream, toiletries, extra pair of clothes, shoes, newspaper, tissue, napkins, sanitary pads, emergency medical kit, and many more.
