A Delhi Court reserved the bail plea filed by Disha Ravi, a 22-year old climate activist, accused in the ‘farmers protest toolkit’ which was shared by global environmental activist Greta Thunberg. The case was registered by the Delhi Police last week under Section 124A IPC*, apprehending that the accused had made edits to google documents of the toolkit. The police authorities further claimed that the “toolkit” was created by various Khalistani groups like, Poetic Justice Foundation.
The matter was heard on 20th February, 2021 and is reserved for 23 February, 2021. Further, the co-accused Advocate Nikita Jacob and Shantanu Muluk have been granted transit anticipatory bail by the Bombay High Court.

*What is Section 124A of Indian Penal Code?
Section 124A of IPC is used for Sedition charges which says that, ‘Whoever, by words, either spoken or written, or by signs, or by visible representation, or otherwise, brings or attempts to bring into hatred or contempt, or excites or attempts to excite disaffection towards, the Government established by law in [India], shall be punished with [imprisonment for life], to which fine may be added, or with imprisonment which may extend to three years, to which fine may be added, or with fine.’
