Once you're done with your heatsetter, place a small EasyPress mat on your workspace and position the shiny material of your choice (we recommend Every-Day Iron-on Vinyl, but fusible fabric or Infusible Ink can also be applied with this method). It's time to move the magic machine over to your project, and press away!
For a smooth, professional-looking result, move your magic machine around the material using light pressure as per the directions on the box. Materials
Hot pressing is a powder metallurgy process for the forming of a solid powder or a pre-formed material at a temperature high enough to induce the sintering and creep processes. It is used in the fabrication of hard and brittle materials, including diamond-metal composite cutting tools and technical ceramics. It also can be combined with spark plasma sintering to produce highly dense and ductile metals such as copper, bronze, mixed copper-tin powders, and iron and brass.
The uniaxial heat and pressure of hot pressing causes densification, which involves the rearrangement of particle contact and plastic flow at the particles’ contacts. The densification is controlled through strain rate and temperature to maintain the flow and avoid decomposition. This can be done with a variety of materials, and the technique has been applied to various types of ceramics, carbides, and tungsten carbides [85-87].
A common use for this procedure is the consolidation of diamond-metal composite cutting tools. In these cases, the powder is first compressed in a graphite mold, which then provides heat and pressure for densification.

You probably already know that the newest of Cricut's EasyPress machines isn't exactly for the faint of heart. Unlike the "big" EasyPress that features a digital readout, the EasyPress Mini uses 3 heat settings - Low, Medium and High - to heat up your material of choice. The low setting is great for most iron-on, HTV and Infusible Ink (tm) materials, while the high setting is best suited for those special materials that really require a little more heat.
