Conditional Self Worth and Tech

I know this is not exclusive to tech but how can someone derive a sense of meaning and self-worth away from one's work?

From a very young age we work for approval and love from our caregivers, that is something we all know. But it's fascinating how this slips us as adults.

As adults we're constantly doing the same. A simple atmosphere of joy and happiness is almost non-existent without a sense of novelty and achievement.

I think that this is especially dangerous given the complexity of today's world and the insane IQ and EQ expectations society put on individuals.

I think the answer though is also in our driving force.
