Can You Find It Within Yourself To Continue

It was easy to start.
It was easy to say yes.
It was easy at the start.
To chase the thrill of the new.
To escape the ordinary.
To aspire to heights you’d only dreamt of.
But, the end was not guaranteed.
You missed one day,
You skipped one session,
You lost one account.
Fatigue crept up.
Exhaustion seeped in through the determination.
Doubts roared.
You started to question your decisions. It was foolhardy to attempt a task this big. No one in your family had done it before. Your partner was right all along.
Can you find it in you to continue?
No one said the start guaranteed completion. No one said the path was clear of obstacles. No one said you’d get a blank check, uninterrupted hours and endless energy.
Not in this lifetime.
Instead, what you needed to learn was to focus your attention on what you can control. This doesn’t mean you are a pushover. This means that you are conscious of how limited your energy is. This means you are willing to say no to grumbling and resignation.
Stop complaining about the cards life dealt you.
It wasn't about cursing the problems but learning new skills to handle them.
It wasn’t about regretting the past but learning to find meaning in your suffering.
It wasn’t about perfection but learning to trust the path will appear when you need it.
You won’t always be motivated.
You won’t always believe it’s possible.
You won’t always remember why you started.
You will have to push against the resistance. Battle the urge to quit. Show up and fight each day.
And then step into your new reality.
