Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage that can be made at any time of the year to Mecca. Muslims refer to it as the minor pilgrimage, which purifies the pilgrims from the wrongs and sins of the past. Many people use perfumes and deodorants in their life. Well, this is a good habit to use as they will make you fragrant and aromatic. Using perfume during Umrah

A Perfume is a liquid mixture used to produce a pleasing odour. It’s having some strong oils and organic compounds.

Those who intend to make the Islamic pilgrimage can book their Umrah packages in 2023.

For the entire Umrah, you must wear Ihram. Once you enter the state of Ihram, certain rules of pilgrimages apply to you. According to one regulation, a Muslim is not allowed to use perfumes on his body or his robe while he is in the sacred condition. The use of Perfume is invalid in the Ihram state. The Umrah will be invalid if your dress has been intentionally wiped, rubbed, or touched by scented liquids.

 

 

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has forbidden the use of perfumes, as He said:

“He should not wear a shirt, a turban, trousers, a head cloak or garment scented with saffron or Wars (kinds of perfumes).” {Bukhari and Muslim}.

As the whole rituals of Umrah require Ihram condition. Therefore, using perfume or any other type of deodorant during the entire Umrah rituals is forbidden. The same condition applies to other types of perfume which have a strong smell and compounds. These can be

·       scents

·       toothpaste

·       soaps

·       deodorants

·       strong perfumes

·       other fragrances

·       aromatic tissues

·       creams

 

Umrah needs the purity of man instead of any external fragrance. Because is physical worship whose acceptance is quick before Allah. So, it does not need any other material, it requires only cleanliness and the Niyyah of a man.

Allowed perfumes in Umrah

The above-listed products are allowed if they are unperfumed deodorants, less aromatic toothpaste, unperfumed soaps, and suntan creams. Although it’s not good to use unscented soap and deodorant, etc., it is preferable to completely avoid them while wearing the Ihram.

Unscented suntan lotion would be acceptable in emergencies for those who require it. It would be acceptable to use toothpaste that doesn't smell or taste too strongly of mint. But a tooth stick or Miswak is much better.

Can I use tissue paper during Umrah?

Most people use scented tissue during Umrah, even though they are not allowed. You can use non-perfume tissue paper during your minor pilgrimage. Moreover, use tissue that is not aromatic and should be simple.
