5 of the best things to do when you first wake up!

Good morning, afternoon, or evening, depending on whenever you wake up throughout the day. There could be a number of reasons as to why different people wake up at different times everyday. It could be work related, it could be school related, any reason that you would have as to why you wake up at your own time everyday, I am sure it is legitimate. I am not here to judge or question the time you wake up, rather help you feel ready and energetic to conquer the day that lies ahead for you!

1. Cleaning up your room

Yes I know, I know, the first thing that nobody would ever want to willingly do would be cleaning up there rooms, especially when they first wake up. Even if your room is super clean, find something in it rearrange or put into place. My process of cleaning my room when waking up everyday is the same, I put my clothes away in my closet, throw out any garbage that has to be thrown out, make my bed and so on. The reason that I am advocating for you to do this is because of how productive you feel doing something that you would not normally feel like doing. Cleaning up your room whenever you first wake gives you a sense of productivity to begin the day, and it can actually help you maintain that feeling until it’s lights out again.

2. Take a shower

This next tip basically goes without saying, but taking a nice stimulating shower for yourself is good to get a great start to your day, as well as rejuvenate you completely. Now while the water temperature of the shower is completely up to you, I always intend on taking a nice, lukewarm temperature shower, so that my body would not repel away from the water when it hits. Sometimes when people take a hot or cold shower, their bodies can sometimes spazz a little bit from when the water first hits onto you. A lukewarm water temperature shower is the best of both worlds, and can play a big part into getting a start to your day.

3. Plan your fits

As an 18 year old freshman in college, I am currently balancing a college, fitness, and at home life. With that being said, it is always nice to plan out whichever outfits you are going to be wearing throughout the day, even if it for something else unlike the places that I go to for. Sometimes, depending on what I do first and how early that starts, I usually combine nice looking outfits that I haven’t ever tried out before together, and they can make a big difference in the fallout of your day.

4. Go on a morning jog or walk

Exercise is important, but that is one piece of information that I don’t have to inform you that you already know. Cardio is one of your most effective and most important exercise activities, because you are moving your body consistently, which increases blood flow, and stamina. Jogging or walking in the morning however, is actually one of the best ways to get a start to your day, because you are getting on the grind early on, putting the steps and work in, and energizing your body early on, and that energy can last the whole day.

5. Apply fragrances

This last one can actually boost confidence. For men or women, applying a certain cologne or perfume is the best possible way for you to feel good about yourselves, because you have an interesting scent that is latched on to you, and you can get complemented for because of it. Any fragrance that you believe has a good aroma to it, and you believe it is what will increase confidence, go for it, and pat yourself on the back for it later.
