Established in 1983 The Asian Cricket Council Asia Cup is a One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket tournament. Founded as a measure to promote compassion and cooperation between Asian countries. It is scheduled to be held every two years originally. The last tournament was held in 2018, due to the covid-19 pandemic the tournament was delayed and will be held this year i.e. 2022. Here is the list of all Asia cup winners from 1984-2018.
1. 1984- INDIA
In the opening season of the Asia Cup, only three teams participated. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and India. India defeated both teams and won the opening season of the Asia Cup.

2. 1986- SRI LANKA
India pulled out of the Asia Cup series due to weak cricketing relations with Sri Lanka. Bangladesh was included for the first time in the series.

3. 1988- INDIA
For the first time, a multi-national cricket tournament was held in Bangladesh the Asia Cup.

4. 1990/91- INDIA
Pakistan was restrained from the Asia Cup series due to strained political relations with India.

The Asia Cup was called off due to a strained political relationship between India and Pakistan.
6. 1995- INDIA
After 11 years, the 5th edition of the series was again held in Sharjah, UAE.

7. 1997- SRI LANKA
Sri Lanka won its second Asian Cup.

8. 2000- PAKISTAN
India couldn’t qualify for the finals for the first time in the Asia Cup. Pakistan beat Sri Lanka to win its 1st Asian Cup. Yousuf Youhana was the player of the series.

9. 2004- SRI LANKA

10. 2008- SRI LANKA
The 9th edition of the tournament retained the 2004 format. Sri Lanka won its 4th Asia Cup defeating India. Ajantha Mendis was player of the series.

11. 2010- INDIA
India won the tournament for the first time in 15 years. Only the four test-plating Asian nations were included. Shahid Afridi was the player of the Asia Cup series.

12. 2012- PAKISTAN
Pakistan won its 2nd Asian Cup defeating Bangladesh. Sachin Tendulkar’s 100th international century happened in this series. The title of player of series was given to Shakib.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Asian Cup was initially postponed to 2021 but later pushed to 2022 with rising COVID cases globally.
