Apple's Ipad Accessories Raise Questions

The new iPad makes a good impression - the accessories like Magic Keyboard Folio and Apple Pencil are not clearly structured.

With the tenth version of the iPad, Apple has presented an improved version of its entry-level tablet that makes a very good impression, at least on paper. So far we have answered the question from our circle of acquaintances "Which not-so-expensive tablet should I buy?" usually answered with "The cheapest iPad", nothing will change after the presentation of the iPad 10 - a test will show more details.

What is interesting about the newly introduced iPad and iPad Pro is not only the devices

but also the accessories. Apple is launching a new keyboard cover for the new iPad, the Magic Keyboard Folio: It comes with a row of function keys and a much larger touchpad - practical if you're using the Stage Manager multi-window mode, for example.

However, Apple is only bringing the new practical keyboard cover for the entry-level iPad - the keyboards for the iPad Pro series, and thus also for the new model, still have no row of function keys and no larger touchpad. However, given the premise of being tablets for professional users, the devices would actually benefit from these functions.

Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro is not much more expensive

One can only speculate as to why Apple withholds such Keyboard Pro functions from its Pro tablets. Economic reasons could play a role: iPad Pro users should continue to buy the more expensive Magic Keyboard if they want a touchpad. However, the Magic Keyboard with its practical folding mechanism is only 70 euros more expensive than the new Magic Keyboard Folio - that's not a huge difference.

Ultimately, we cannot understand the decision - and hope that Apple might also bring a version of the new folio keyboard for the Pro iPads. The Magic Keyboard Folio is not compatible with the Pro devices, although the tablets are almost the same size. The fact that the keyboard cover cannot be used for the iPad Pro was a conscious decision by Apple - for whatever reason.
