Hurricane Harvey was linked to 2005's Hurricane Katrina. It was supposed to be one of the most costliest and dangerous tropical cyclone of the decade.

Hurricane Harvey caused huge loss of life and property. The threat was so widespread that people were forced to evacuate their homes. Everybody was literally running for their lives.


Hurricane Harvey was formed on August 17, 2017. It witnessed major landfalls in Texas and approximately 40 inches of rain was dumped in the affected areas which were windward islands, Nicaragua, Suriname, Guyana, Honduras, Belize, Cayman Islands, Yucatan peninsula, Southern and Eastern United States especially Texas and Louisiana.

The aftermath was so huge that people had a lot of restrictions imposed on them. They couldn’t drive on the roads, they had no access to food, water, electricity and other resources. Dallas created a mega shelter at its downtown convention center to help thousands of people who became homeless after Hurricane Harvey. It was the largest mega shelter ever created for any natural disaster.


6 - President Trump approved $ 15.25 billions for storm aid and boosted people to fight Hurricane Harvey.

The storm killed 34 people and forced 2,50,000 people to evacuate their native land. But President Donald Trump never saw it negatively. In all his tweets, he mentioned “Wow,” and he called it “epic” and “historic,” adding that “Texas can handle anything!” in order to boost the morale of the people who were affected by storm.


7- Hurricane Harvey made June to September a hurricane season in US.

The devastation caused during these months by Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Rita or Hurricane Katrina is so huge that people have started fearing these months. People have suffered so much that these months are now referred as hurricane seasons.Even after the storm was over, the aftermath continued. In fact, more than 11000 people vacated their houses from June 2017 to February 2018.
