A reflection of a multicultural society, Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasma has been a show loved by audience across all age groups for its simplicity and relentless fun.
It is a show that depicts small, but realistic and important events in a common man’s life. Interestingly, it is one the few shows that celebrates so many roles together. The roles of a teacher, father, son, daughter, grandparent, friend, and much more.
Bored but not busy, I thought doing a character sketch of these lively characters would not only help me revisit the fun, old days of my teenage, but it would also be a great opportunity to once again cherish a time when everyone in the society was an uncle, aunt, brother or sister.
Like the societies we live in, every character in Tmkoc is unique and interesting in their own aspects.
The Sodhi Family is another fascinating family at Tmkoc.
1. Roshan Singh Sodhi
Sodhi Bhai is the bold, energetic and always jolly “Sadarji” of the Gokuldham society. Always ready for “Party-Sharty” and helping friends, Sodhi Bhai is the “Mast Banda” who likes to take life with ease.
The Gokuldham Purus Mandali have made countless journeys of fun in Sodhi Bhai’s jeep, and it is Roshan Singh Sodhi, who takes the driving seat whenever the task demands something daring.
The show depicts Sodhi Bhai as someone, who is always filled with enthusiasm and energy. He is helpful, romantic, and daring all at the same time.
2. Roshan Bhabhi
Roshan and Roshan are perhaps the most romantic couple in Gokuldham. The show depicts the interesting conjugal life of Roshan Bhabhi and Sodhi. They share deep love, sometimes, however, “Party-Sharty” gets in between the story.
There is fun, romance, drama and even some “Nokejhok” between the two, but without any toxicity. Every hiccups in their relationship ends with a soothing “Lassie” from Roshan Bhabhi, and the audience gets nothing but “Masti”.
The show depicts Roshan Bhabhi as a loving mother and a caring wife always there for Sodhi Bhai and Gogi.
3. Gogi
Gogi is the youngest member of Gokuldham society. If you have been an avid follower of the show, you would never forget the “Tinkujiwadi” episode where in Gogi gets in trouble.
Throughout the show, Gogi is depicted as someone of innocent nature. However, no one would miss to admire Gogi for the wonderful role he played in depicting the child who loses his sight.
Gogi, Roshan Bhabhi’s “Dikra” has been in the show as a soft-hearted and jolly teenager, who loves to have fun with friends and grows up from being a little boy to a dynamic college student.
