I live by many beliefs, with one of them being that we are who we are because of our choices of the hobbies that we decide to take up.

For instance, I have friends that are very fond of playing video games more than the average videogame player. Because of their likeliness towards this hobby, they developed a short temper from the consistent gameplay, since video games can cause players to not subdue their calm behavior, and let the anger and rage take over.

I myself have taken up a few hobbies in the past, most recently, you guessed it, writing. With writing, I have developed a strong sense of grammatical guidance, with now being able to have a strong sentence structural mindset.

And with being on the topic of writing, we can begin with the first hobby.

1. Writing

I have already discussed the cognitive benefits that writing displays in the mind and how different it can impact your overall journey as a writer.

I had always thought of writing as two sides of the same coin, in which you are writing with care, and writing without. Eventually, you are still getting writing done overall.

What I mean when I say writing without care, is that, well, be honest. How often was an essay assigned that you did not want to do but still pushed yourself to do anyway just to not receive a zero. This is writing without care because it is not writing that has been assigned in your favor, it is writing that is forced upon you that needs to be done.

Whereas writing with care, that is completely different. You can already assume the reasoning, because writing with care usually falls under the category of stuff that you chose to write out of personal passion and caring.

When in the writing zone, you should always write about something you love, and make sure that it is under your terms.

2. Reading

Like writing, reading is equally beneficial in regards to how immense it can alter one's cognitive process.

Reading is uncredited as a beneficial hobby, because of this current age of technology that we live in, in which we are unable to focus on a paper page rather than a glass screen.

I recently took reading as a hobby along with writing, since I feel like reading would have really encouraged one's ability to write, because reading presents great laser focus like concentration and a huge enrichment in vocabulary skills.

I highly recommend reading any book that fulfills your tastes and preferences, with genres ranging from action, to horror, to romance. In the end, you are doing yourself an abundance of favors.

3. Drawing or Painting

This last hobby is one that I have always been an advocate of. Art is the most of a hobby that is to potentially get you showing your true creativity.

I have been an artist for my entire life, and regardless of the various not-so-good pieces I have brought into reality, that did not demoralize me to keep trying and expand my creativity into larger regions.

Art can also be thought of as a therapeutic activity because when the process of drawing or painting occurs, you are left alone with your thoughts.

Listening to music while doing art increases your concentration, from experience. The human mind can not act upon so many occurrences at a given moment, so listening to music while doing art is keeping your mind fully devoted.

To conclude, we will end with the statement that we began with. “I live by many beliefs, with one of them being that we are who we are because of our choices of the hobbies that we decide to take up.”

You are not limited to the hobbies that I have listed below to take up, not at all.

I believe these 3 hobbies are the ones that are empirical to keep you the busiest, so act on them, and be busy.
