It was June 2017 when Prabhat Mishra cleared his 3rd year of engineering. He wasn’t satisfied with what he was learning or gaining in the name of technical education. This triggered his inner conscious.
He wanted to do something, which solves the problem of ‘namesake technical education’. He did not want that the future has foolish engineers.
With this thought in mind, he laid the foundation of TechEx Engineers in Lucknow in 2017.
Startup Inspiration
As time flew, science and technology made progress by leaps and bounds. One thing that remained the same was 'education'. There were some changes in the syllabus, but that was all that ever happened to this field.
Fortunately, Prabhat Mishra was not the only person who felt this. There were many individuals who wanted to bring a change, in the only field left unchanged - 'education'. The inspiration behind TechEx Engineers comes from here.
They decided to take up the problem which they have been ignoring for long. With all their energies, they marched ahead to revolutionize the world of technical education. In July 2017, he laid down the foundation of TechEx Engineers.
Startup Founders
Prabhat Mishra, a 21-year-old computer science graduate from BBD University, is the founder of Tech Ex Engineers. He was joined by Gaurav Verma, Ganesh Gupta and Ali Kausen in his sojourn of providing the best technical training to aspiring candidates.
“There’s little to nothing that we can’t achieve in our lives if we set our mind to it.”
These words from TechEx founder, Prabhat Mishra, describe his mantra for life. He has used this mantra at various stages in his life and it yet to fail him or anyone else, who chooses to follow it.
With these words driving him towards his aim, he started writing his startup story.
Startup Journey
Initially, the startup TechEx Engineers provided training to students in various disciplines of computer science. They started training batches for various programming languages. This was how they initiated the big small change they want to see.
In July 2018, after the year since they started, they had trained 6 batches of students in all. These 6 batches had helped 80 students to develop up to date technical skills and become industry ready.
Recently, in April 2018, TechEx Engineers opened Innovation Lab. The purpose of the Innovation Lab was to provide training to students who were interested in Robotics.
They created a robotic arm, the obstacle avoiding robot, the communication satellite, the quadcopter, the auto-balancing robot and many other robotics projects at the Innovation Lab.
In this way, TechEx Engineers are helping many technical students who wish to invent some great robots in the future.
Startup Funds
Funds are a very important question whenever anyone steps into the startup ecosystem, especially at such a young age. TechEx Engineers also faced troubles, but they knew how to combat the need for funds.
In order to hire qualified trainers and teachers for various other disciplines other than programming languages, they needed funds. They began providing website and app development services to garner some funds and invest them in the growth of the startup.
Apart from this, they began organizing paid workshops and seminars in various colleges. In the course of a year, TechEx Engineers have generated a revenue of INR 6 Lacs.
Having said that, TechEx Engineers has 20 people on board at present and the sky is the limit for them now. They are working each day to multiply their funds.
On asking about looking out for funding, the founder of TechEx Engineers said, 'I’d be lying if I say I’m not. What start-up doesn’t need help to strengthen its root?'
So, clearly, if anyone is looking out to invest, there's a good opportunity.
Startup Challenges
The Indian startup ecosystem offers a variety of challenges. However, the biggest challenge that TechEx Engineers faced being a startup in India is winning trust.
There are so many multi-national companies operating in India that the market is super competitive. They are offering the latest technology at reasonable rates, making it tough for startups to garner client's trust.
The first thing that an Indian client does after listening to you and the offer you have to make, is comparing you with the multi-national corporations.
TechEx Engineers, like other Indian startups, faced this major challenge. When they began taking up clients for their website development and app development services, they weren't trusted.
Note to other Startups
According to the team of TechEx Engineers, 'support' is one thing which every startup needs from the other. The survival of a startup is difficult if there is no support from external agencies.
As startups, we must step forward and support each other. We are sailing in the same sea after all.
