We all heard that art is not restricted by boundaries, not limited to language and not bounded by religion. It makes each day a masterpiece, with more and more appreciation flooding around.
Open Mic Lucknow 3.0, (Izhaar) organised by Poetical Boffins at Cafe By Default, we came across an explicit display of art, which was unrestricted, unbounded and unlimited.
Artists and performers from various parts of India including Delhi, Kanpur, Varanasi and Farrukhabad, and nawabi city of Lucknow gathered for an extravagant amalgamation of art.
We are mentioning art here because this open mic was not just about poetry, which is the mistaken image we have whenever we hear the word open mic. It was about stand-up comedy, poetry, ghazals, and storytelling!

Puneet’s standup comedy act-
Bhagwaan ki baat alag hai, par har jagah jo milta hai wo hai e-rikshaw. Mai kasam kha ke kehta hoon, billi raasta kaate na kaate, e-rickshaw wala zaroor katega!!!
Puneet's Standup was so relatable. We all experience this every day. Puneet's entire performance was packed with laughter. Puneet is emerging as young talented Standup Comedian from Lucknow. Thanks to various Open Mic Events happening in Lucknow, more and more artist are coming forward as they are getting stage and audience to experiment.
Rubina Ayyaz's Gazal-
Ujle kapdo mein karte karam kaale hai,
Ban ke baithe jo Gandhi ke bandar sabhi.
It was indeed maximum expression in minimum words.
Shahbaz Talib's Line -

Aditya's "Kalam Meri Azaad Hai"
Surya ka shaurya bana, yahi kautilya aur maurya bana,
Likhi gayi hogi kisi roz ek hi kalam se pooja aur azaan, tabhi toh mai prabhu bhakt bana.
This beautifully penned down the freedom of art in his work, left a deep mark with this couplet.

Great Venue for Open Mic Events -Cafe By Default, Lucknow -
The evening was full of great performers from Lucknow and various cities. The audience and the staff was very supportive at Cafe By Default. Watching these young performers coming up amazing voices and writing can inspire anyone. We found ourselves and lost ourselves at the same time while attending the great show. So many young talents are budding in Lucknow from tier 2 cities of India that we can never get over it.
Literature, music and other forms of art have been central to India’s international image. Seeing them develop is a treat. These artists are the banks of our cultural heritage and we hope to see you people joining us in the audience the next time!
