When everyone was celebrating the New Year, they were preparing themselves for a never-ending fight and gearing up for the unseen challenges waiting along the way. Thus, the Sashakt Foundation saw its formation on the midnight of 1 January 2019.
Sashakt Foundation Is Different From Rest of Social Workers
Many social workers and NGOs are working in India. However, Sashakt Foundation is different from them. One of the specialties of the Sashakt Foundation is that its volunteers work in the regions where no one goes for help.
The first program of Sashakt Foundation was held on 26 January 2019 in an area where the true backward India resides. There, the situation was such that nobody in the colony knew what our national anthem is? What is our flag?
Realizing that these sections of the society need a lot of care and attention, Sashkat Foundation began working more and more in this direction. Even in the circumstances where people were so miserable, which is hard to dream and believe, the volunteers of the Sashakt Foundation don't step back.
Sashakt Foundation - Vision & Mission
Talking about the vision & mission of the Sashakt Foundation, we can surely say that it is to empower the untouched and ignored sections of Indian society. They wish to bring change where it is needed the most.
Primary Education For All
First of all, the Sashakt Foundation is focussed on imparting education to the sections of society that have no access to it. They tried and gave primary education, which can improve the lives of children and strengthen their future.
Clothes For Everyone
Second, the Sashakt Foundation envisioned a society where all the people have access to clothes. They tried to cover the body of all those who didn't have clothes. They collected old clothes and gathered them. After sorting through the collection, they distributed the good clothes among the people who had not seen clothes in their life for a long period.
Immediately First Aid in Accidental Casualties
Similarly, if a person gets an accident in front of any Sashakt Foundation volunteer, they take the injured person to the hospital for immediate first aid and get him treated.
Food For The Hungry
Unfortunately, there is a considerably large portion of our society that sleeps an empty stomach at night. If they know, they collect the extra food, which would have otherwise been wasted, and distribute it to the people who need it the most.
Women Empowerment
Next in the list of issues to be dealt with by Sashakt Foundation is women empowerment. They conducted many awareness campaigns, which ensured that young girls, ladies, and women in the backward regions get to know their rights.
Serving The Elderly
The worst things happen to the old-age people in the slum and ignored areas. They neither have enough to eat nor have any earnings. Some of them even don't have a place to live. At last, the Sashakt Foundation serves and helps the elderly.
Tough Situations Faced By Sashakt Foundation
"There are some situations that we face. A girl is keen to study but is forced to sell toys on the roadside to earn a livelihood, in the face of circumstances. When we go to the weekly class, most of the children, who are good and interested in reading, are missing." an excerpt.
"The children living in slums cannot take admission in the school because the school is far away from this slum and parents need their children to run the house as well. The slum-dwellers are miserable. We feel we are doing as much as we can, according to our capacity, to give assurance in case of problems." another excerpt.
Despite many efforts to eradicate poverty and illiteracy in India, a common reason for seeing no improvement is the lack of education and literacy in the parents of children. When a parent does not understand the importance of education, the children never will. Also, the future of the child is never going to see any change.
Sashakt Foundation Team & Achievements
The team of Sashakta Foundation is currently a team of youngsters, who hail from Uttar Pradesh and are always ready for social service.
To date, the Sashakt Foundation has distributed food & clothes to thousands of people; saved the lives of 37 accident cases; provided primary education to 117 children; reunited 23 missing people with their families, and organized various awareness campaigns.
Shubham Dwivedi is the founder of the Sashakt Foundation.
