We all know social anxiety is not a fun time, especially if you are not normally an anxious person.

In order to understand the “what” of social anxiety, you need to first present an understanding of the “why” of dealing with social anxiety.

From my experience, I always believed social anxiety to be reliant on luck. Let me explain.

When I would wake up on a certain morning, I could have immediately been able to tell if I was feeling anxious, and it would extend its way into the aspect of my social life.

This was back in the midst of 2020, so as you would probably guess I have come a very long way from dealing with my anxiety ever since.

I had mentioned multiple times that I had always been an anxious person, but in my case, it had been a part of me since I was a kid. In these contemporary times, I still deal with anxiety, but much less frequently than I had used to, and that’s saying something from me.

While my fate of social anxiety lies in the hands of my mentality and my “luck”, I would give it a 75/25 ratio, because of how far I have come and the steps I had taken to get where I am today.

The “what” of social anxiety is what it does to you internally, and externally. I would say from experience that internally is much worse, because of how much you bring yourself down from all the negativity that courses in your mind about yourself.

We have already discussed the reasoning behind this, and while I do know that social anxiety can range from short to long term, remember that you can get through your social fears.

And the best way to do that is by meditating.

Meditation is something that we should be grateful for and give more credit to since it is most popular for its mind and stress relieving factors. Meditation allows us to just escape from the external world, and focus on ourselves for a brief period of time.

What I had done to extract the fullest effect from meditation, was simply close my eyes, breath in and breath out, and sit back to witness the mental changes that were being put into effect by the seconds.

I recommend with starting with a short session, as a way to get in tune with yourself. Once that happens, you will see drastic changes in your anxiety, I promise.
