Urdu is such a fascinating language that almost all of us wish to speak in Urdu. Most of the words we use in daily language belong to Urdu only. For example, insaan, kasam, suraj, chand, phool, etc. are all Urdu words.
We use these words so frequently that we fail to distinguish between Urdu and Hindi. But actually, Urdu and Hindi have very different scripts. Urdu uses the Nastaliq script, which is written from left to right, while Hindi uses the Devanagari script, written from right to left. The vocabulary and origins are also quite apart.
Hindi has its roots in Sanskrit while Urdu has its roots in Persian. But because both the languages were spoken by the rulers in Delhi, a mixed language became the common language of convenient communication. As of today, Hindi is predominant in India whereas Urdu is widespread in Pakistan.
But, language is not restricted by boundaries and so, we all adopted English for daily use in professional as well as personal communications. Today, we all use English, unaware of the fact that even English bifurcates into two types: British English and American English.
But, who cares? The actual swag lies in speaking a mix of these three languages, popularly known as Hingulish. A few examples are: 'Iska reason kya hai?', 'How is your maa?', 'Tumhari problem ka solution nahi mila!'
And you can read your own WhatsApp conversations for more such Hingulish phrases. You will have plenty of examples.
