’Dhadak’

You guys must have been hearing a lot about this film. The title track of ‘Dhadak’ is trending at number one on Youtube. The ‘Pappi’ confused with ‘Puppy’ dialogue is feeding meme makers all across the nation.

And while everyone is talking about ‘Dhadak’, you have developed extreme curiosity about the upcoming movie.

Dhadak is all over the headlines not only because it is the debut movie of Jhanvi kapoor, the daughter of bollywood legend, Sridevi, who recently passed away by drowning in a bathtub, but also because it is the hindi remake of Nagraj Manjule's marathi hit, Sairat.

Yes! Dhadak is the Hindi remake of a Marathi hit movie, Sairat.

Sairat has already been re-created in many different languages like Punjabi, Bengali, Kannada and Odyssey. This clearly shows what potential the movie has and what wonders it would do on the box office. This has raised our expectation with the movie ‘Dhadak’.

Most parts of the film are shot in Rajasthan, where Dhadak is set, and the director, Shashank Khaitan has smartly shown the Rajasthani heritage. The movie has also has the recreated version of the famous song, Jhinghat in the movie. (You must be feeling like dancing. Frankly, I felt the same)

Starring debutants, Jhanvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar, Dhadak is yet another romantic saga.

The movie Dhadak, is a hindi romantic saga, which highlights the pure and innocent first love experience. The story is set around two youngsters, who fall in love at first sight, confess and wish to live together forever.

But due to the boundations of society, (because your cast and religion is everything and you are nothing without your them), and other silly restrictions, they are exposed to pain, punishments and separation that was not meant for them.

The story is not as happy as you see in ‘Dhadak’ title track and trailer.

Yes because our society knows how to do it every time. Our society knows how to separate two lovers, how to test their love and how to ruin piousness of love. The movie Dhadak is all about the extent to which one can go for love. And you can see it in the movie title track and trailer.

You will find the Dhadak movie trailer simple and sober. It has nothing extraordinary in it, except the ‘mujhe pappi chahiye’ dialogue. Ishaan Kattar (Madhukar) has been very playful and Jhanvi Kapoor (Parthavi) is shy. Both have acted decently, while in love.

However, the chemistry between the duo is really good. They surely have that spark, which a romantic saga requires. Besides the romantic couple, we have a villain in the movie too. (A movie without a villain is like a pizza without cheese, you cannot withstand both.)

The role of the villain in the movie is being played by Ashutosh Rana. He is playing a very strong negative role, which is surely going to leave its remains in our minds for a long time.

Dhadak movie trailer got mixed reviews for the movie.

As soon as the trailer was released, people took to social media and reacted to the trailer in a mixed fashion. Some netizens are loving the duo of the next chocolaty boy of bollywood - Ishaan Khattar and Jhanvi Kapoor in the main lead.

Whereas there are many who are claiming this film to be another type of the age old romantic drama, with a touch of nepotism by our very own Karan Johar. Not just this, people who have already seen the original marathi movie ‘Sairat’ are claiming that Dhadak failed miserably as a Hindi remake of Sairat.

Some fans are even ready to stab people if they call ‘Dhadak’ as the remake of ‘Sairat.’

Well I haven't watched both films yet so I am not believing these allegations. I am still hopeful (like many others) that ‘Dhadak’ will give Bollywood another great on-screen couple.

Dhadak, directed by Shashank Khaitan, and produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios is all set to hit the big screens on 20th July, 2018. (Yes, that’s the release date for Dhadak.)

Fingers crossed!
